SOE Announces Partnership with MLG

SOE today announced a new partnership with Major League Gaming.

Below, please find an official press release from Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) and eSports giant Major League Gaming (MLG) detailing their new partnership. Check HEB Ad and Hy Vee Ad. This collaboration will introduce PlanetSide 2 to MLG's extensive competitive gaming audience through all of the league's properties.

I'm just as skeptical of eSports as the next person. But I'm having a hard time seeing the conspiracies and death sentences for the game people are trying to push.

You are clearly not trying hard enough.

For one, you need to make a thread where you say they do not listen to anyone.

Then, you need to make a post in another thread where you talk about something unrelated, like BFR's. Then, have someone remind you that BFR's were a community requested item.

Then! you need to make sure that you let people know, that SOE should not be listening to the community, because half the population will evaporate overnight.

The thing that is bothering people is the timing. A lot of us Planetside 1 veterans have been very patient with this game despite being disappointed with it, and have even spent large amounts of money on the game. We did this because we felt like it was an investment.

As someone who wants to some day play Planetside 2 in an e-sports setting, I am disappointed. Planetside 2 currently has extremely noncompetitive mechanics. I have yet to see any indication that SOE even thinks that this is a problem.

Something both the e-sports and none e-sports crowd can agree on, is that this game has bigger problems right now.

My Advice

You want a good Esport Event and Success? Make PS1 for Free to Play and do your Esport there...

That suits 999999x Esport more then the current PS2 Game.
Make it 50 vs 50 (obviously only Online Matches) Outfit Wars on Old Oshur - get a Way to Spectate the Whole thing and this will revolutionise Esport.

PS2 not ready for atleast another few years.
The whole Esport Scene is laughing at this Dev Team for being that dilusional!

How would a contract with MLG to make the game more competitive work against the game becoming more competitive?

I think it's a good idea that if you wanna take your game towards e-sports in a serious manner you talk to the people who know how it's done.
