ALL "POP ARTISTS" (Singers, dancers, etc.), most Democrat politicians (sometimes their spouses), and any actor/director/producer/etc. who thinks he/she knows how the world should work and expresses their opinions thereof on normaly decent news channels.

I wouldn't really call Steven Segal fat though. Now there was some asian martial arts guy that had his own TV show for awhile that really was fat. Don't know if that is who he's talking about though.

Well, Steven Segal is actually a pretty good martial artist. He is a 7th degree black belt in aikido. It's true that he isn't a really good actor though.

Also, his martial arts movies aren't as good as others (like some jackie chan or Jet Lee ones- not talking about their american movies btw) simply because he doesn't draw them out. You get one of the older Jet lee or Chan movies (Legend of Drunken Master for instance) and you can get fight scenes that last 5 or 10 minutes. In reality, no fight would ever last that long since it is pretty easy for a good martial artist to cripple or kill an opponent. Hence Segals fight scenes are actually more realistic.

But I don't really watch Kung Fu movies for realistic fight scenes, so yea I don't prefer Segals movies.

I don't know about the martial arts part, I'm no expert on that. But on EVERY SINGLE Segal movie, ballistics are completely out there. Bad guy shoots assualt rifle, wastes half a clip firing in general direction of good guy. Good guy hit once in shoulder, barely moves. Good guy fires .22 pistol at bad guy. Bad guy hit in chest, flies backward like he was hit by a cargo truck.

Yea, but that happens in lots of action movies. Honestly, there are not that many movies out there with realistic gun fights. Maybe Black Hawk Down, and Heat. But the majority of action movies (whether the star is segal, Bruce Willis, or Arnold) are just way out there.

Note, I'm not arguing in favor of watching Segal movies. They have bad plots and bad acting (kind of like Van damn movies). Just saying bad ballistics is a rather common problem in hollywood :)

Yeah, action movies in general are VERY unrealistic.
Best example (Segal, big surprise): some prison movie, not sure of title. Inmate shoots iron bar door with anti-tank rocket (for some reason in a police armory, right alonside an M60 :rolleyes: ) and the door simply falls over after the smoke clears. There is not a smiley to describe my mental/emotional state after watching THAT piece of shit.

Yea I hear that. I seriously think one of the best gun fight scenes I've ever seen was the big one in Heat. They play no music during it, and the sound is so good you can hear the shots echoing in the city streets and hear the sound of the shells hitting the ground. If you have a good sound system, you really need to watch that movie (or at least that scene) if you've never seen it.

Other than that, yea hollywood is crap for realism, but I can't say I care that much. As long as a movie is entertaining and not to far fetched then I'm satisfied. :D

ugh, I would be too tempted to act upon my urge if I knew him any better than the few minutes we met.

Scenario:

My wife and I are trying to check into our hotel room in SF.
A line is beginning to form behind us while he ("george") is ranting at the clerk behind the desk. Going on and on about how "he should get the room his agent requested, regardless of how full the hotel is. Make someone move! Look at me! Dont you know who I am? I could buy and sell your ass! Do you know how much I made from that show?"...on and on....

Hotel Desk: "Sir, you DO know there are several large conventions in town this week and every hotel in the area is full? We're doing what we can with what we have....please, step aside and the manager will be out to help you momentarily. I have to help the folks behind you who have actual reservations"

My reaction to that comment was...."uncalled for" according to hotel security.

Ok..."hate" is a bad word. Hate begets hate...point taken...however, you cannot convince me knowing a person like that personally would/could possibly make me "dislike" him less.

Walking into a Barnes & Noble book store last night, I was looking for some light reading. which in my case means about 6-7 large books.

That's when i saw the rack. a very large collection of Hillary's books. at 30% off. and not a single book looked like it had moved since placement.

Not that I can blame her for trying, I just get a kick out of the fact that noone in my area bought her book.
