I can totally tell the difference when I see a skilled vanu player and a not-so-skilled one. It seems like it is the not-so-skilled players that must be complaining alot, cause when I come across a skilled one I don't stand a chance. I play as a TR pounder max most of the time, and even with my 'overpowered' weapons it doesn't make a difference if the vanu i'm fighting knows what to do and how to do it. It is sad however that those kind of vanu are rare and far between.

And I pwn the NC with my Cycler and Mini-chaingun :D
I know, Pyro! Whenever I fight those overpowered TR with my lasher and lancer, they always end up in a spawn tube.
Personally I think, at least for the two roles I play (HA/AV infantry and Magrider commander) the Vanu are fine. Since I think running people over in a combat vehicle is pretty stupid, I sometimes wish the magrider had better options versus infantry, but I can live with its current incarnation.

they need to turn up VS and turn down NC

As far as Vanu are concerned, I think versatility as a focus is kind of in the wrong direction.
TR has fast weapons with higher rate of fire.
NC has slower weapons but more firepower.
So I think if VS is supposed to be versatile I would classify versatile as their weapons being either accurate, which the lancer and an improved pulsar could go under. The pulsar wouldn't have the firepower of a gauss or the rof of a cycler but its CoF wouldn't be as bad and would make it more useful in field skirmishes(I haven't used the pulsar since open beta and I don't ever remember dying to one when I have a gauss in retail...).
The other half of the "versatility" of Vanu weapons would be weapons like the lasher with a good spread, but move faster! The only time I owned with a Lasher was when I snagged one off a dead VS player and started pumping orbs into one of their AMS's with 15 VS players standing around the EQ terminal.
I don't know anything anyway :)

The only thing that needs to be looked at is Pulsar and Beamer, VS is great as it is (oh and the vehicle pad bug for Thresher and Magrider, especially from the underground pads)

Personally, i hope the Lancer gets a little tap rom the nerf bat when it comes to it's uncanny anti-infantry sniper abilities. it's an AV weapon. buff the damage to armored targets some and minimize the damage to soft ones, that way the weapon lives more to it's purpose. of course i could be full of it, because i'm never on the recieving end of any other AV weaponry. pulsar could use some upping too. Died to a pulsar the third time ever today. of course, all three times I was either hacking, wounded, or both.

although i think their abilitys are practically endless and thier weapons and vehicles are good aren't the energy orbs so slow.. anyway i observed this about a week ago, while trying to hold a bridge in amerish and trying to use cycler as a sniper i saw a sqaud of vanu disembarking from the bridge. Fortunatly for me they only had energy orb weapons it was easy to dodge them [like playing an old frogger game!] however the cycler isn't very accurate while running[of course... if i was only a sniper] i manged to kill a few before i ran out of ammo.

I'm Vanu, and I really disagree with any major changes to balance. Balance is fine.
VS does require more skill. Laying down an effective spread of lasher fire. Leading with the lancer. Using the pulsar only at long range. Being an effective magmower pilot (harder than it looks). Etc.
However the rewards are greater once you master these skills. I think of myself as a skilled Vanu player and I LIKE being afraid. I like playing dodge ball against a camera guided phoenix. I like being painfully reminded by the Missile Lock on my screen not to take my Max outside against TR.
Take away that fear of enemy firepower and you'll take away the replayability of Planetside.
If players dont want to "have" to be skilled to succeed, they should not play Vanu. There are two other options more suitable to their playing style. Overpowering the Vanu will simply remove any sense of accomplishment of victory.

Exactly. The NC are fine, the Vanu need help and the TR still seem to be tough. I play Vanu and I am kind of puzzled by all the "nerf the NC" talk. You get in very close range of any of the heavy assault weapons, and you will be dead quickly.
As for us Vanu, we're doing ok, we just need the Pulsar to work as well as the Gauss and the Cycler. It needs to be useful for close quarters indoor combat. I don't care how many Mags we have outside, without a good infantry weapon, we can't get in and hack :)

It's nice the after 2 days of a nerf people are back to complaining about TR being overpowered...

Funny thing I noticed last night during a huge battle. I am Vanu and I noticed that most of my teammates were using repeaters, mag-statters, cyclers, guass rifles, mini-guns and jackhammers or common pool weapons...
Whether or not our weapons suck or not may up for debate... but you can definately tell by perception that Vanu prefer other weapons (except the Lancer.... we had a gazillion of them at that fight).
I don't know if i have ever seen a TR or NC fire a pulsar.
I personally think our weapons are fine (except for the beamer and knife), but it definally isn't the perception. Maybe the Vanu weapons manufacturers need to hire a PR firm.

I dont know wat all the fuss is about, when it all comes down to it, skill decides the outcome (of course, wat do i know).

Yeah the skilled VS players you are talking about have all figued out that VS weapons are sub par and are killing you with common pool or stolen weapons.
Before you TR folks get your panties in a wad note they are LOOKING AT the VS. This does not mean they are going to change anything. I would be fine with turning down the AI power of the Lancer (which is pretty nutty) for upping its armor damage.
What does VS need?
1) Thresher-- faster orbs.. maybe small area damage?
2) Lasher- faster orbs, more damage
3) Magrider- fix the lag issues so they don't hit people who dodge them
4) Max- Increase clip size, increase orb speed on AV max
5) Pulsar- decrease damage decrease over distance

I don't think any TR people would be upset at a tweak in VS weapons. My personal reaction was due to NC/VS folk claiming that TR is still overpowered and needed more nerfing.

I'm not any type of signifigant athority on the Vanu, I just cant seem to find any to fight. However, I will tell you one anticdote when dealing with vanu that I found interesting.
I had just respawned at a tower and grabed my stealth setup from the equipment terminal. I headed upstairs and quickly got into a knife-fight with a Vanu stealther which I killed. then a vanu agile killed me(I was wounded and he came from behind). He was useing a pulsar
I quickly respawned(they had no interest in hacking apparently) and grabed my newbie agile setup(suppressor) and proceeded to kick his ass in a close range firefight.
In my eyes, there is something a bit wrong when a newbie with the most basic weapon in the game can whip a guy with medium assault. May have just been a fluke too though.
