I was reading on the planetside.com site recently, and I realized they had plans for a vehichle transport called the Lodestar! To some this may be OFN, but it has not been mentioned much, and there are no concept drawings, or other types of information availible. So this thread is for speculation, like: What new sort of tactics will be used now that there will be a vechichle transport. Will it be able to carry heavy vehichles? How many can it carry? How many passengers? How big will it be, how fast will it be, will it have any self defence? These are all questions waiting to be answered.

My guess is it carries the following:
1 piolit, 1 gunner
2 Vechs (any but sunder)

Is like the big military transport choppers that carry 2 tanks at a time.

If I hear what I think its gonna be it'll be something like this:

4 places to hold vechiles (Except maybe the Sund?)
3 crew members, 1 pilot and 2 12mm chaingunners

That would be crazy, having AMSs dropping on a base like rain

AMS would be crazy, but I would hope it can carry a Sunderer or two.

ya, but sometimes it is jsut crazy how far you have to drive to get places, also consider that you spend your certs on somehting that has NO guns, and gives you NO pts for driving one :p

Though it would cause problems if they were falling out of the sky, just think that if you saw one fall out fo the sky, you would know where it was and anyone can take an ams out once they know where it is.

I think it should have 2 heavy vehichle positions, and 2 light vehichle positions. And it should be massive! I mean, extremely huge!

Hmmm... a rain of AMSes would be interesting... very nice way to test the enemy defense...

Does kinda defeat the purpose of the Liberator. Who needs bombs to drop on the enemies heads when you can just drop AMSs.

I hope it can't transport the Sunder, the deliverer would get more use if it could be transported and the sunder couldn't

I really dont see it being able to carry a sunder.. that would defeat teh purpose of the galaxy.

A deliverer is a possibility.. at least then people might use them.

After talking to the PS guys at E3 I was left with the impression that it would only carry one vehicle. This would make sense to me.

The AMS argument has been made many times. I'm in favor of it.

I would now ask the question, now that base turrets are auto again, and would chew up an AMS or any number of them dropped into a court yard and the fact that you will be able to spawn at a hacked facil, would the nay sayers still believe this is a bad idea? I'm going on the assumption that the LS will only be able to carry one vehicle.

Yup, the Deliverer is one of the least used vehicles in the game, maybe with the exception of the Thresher buggy.

I think making it driveable by reinforced would help a lot, but that would go against the trend of only being able to drive open-topped vehicles.

It's true AMS pilot is a thankless job on your BEP bar but your squad will thank you when you sneak into an enemy base grab an AMS from thier vehicle terminal and turn the tide of the battle.

Sure you don't get points for the AMS but think of it this way you deploy an AMS inside a SOI and you just increased your points because your whole squad is constantly inside the SOI hence more BEP

I'll be very disappointed if it can't carry an AMS.

But man, can you imagine what it's going to take to land this thing? I'm having nightmares of galaxy landings...times 10.

What's there to fear? AMSs are easy to kill. Even if it can carry four and drops all of them around your base it's rather easy to find and destroy them. Put someone in a Mosquito, a few people in tanks and ta-daa dead AMSs all over ;)
