I am thinkin about buying this game

I have several questions regarding the game itself but dont even know where to begins since its suppose to be new technology and all.
So I was hoping some of you PSers who already have played it quite a bit might share with me some of the games pro's and con's in your experience.

A couple questions I would like to know to help get this going are:

1) are the planets continents seamless?
Meaning if a crew of people were heading from one continent to attack another, do they actually travel between the two over water, or do they pick the continent they want to do battle in and then they just spawn there?
I am wondering whether the game is just a bunch of different maps that they linked together to make a "planet" or whether it is actually a massive chunk of map that you roam around in doing battle.

2) spawning... When you die, where do you spawn and how far is it from the battlefield or frontlines?
And if I am a mile from the frontline do I actually have to run there or find a vehicle to drive there in, or can I simply commit suicide of some kind and spawn at the battle?

I am trying to judge the reality aspects of the game basically.

So anyway, can some of you out there share your opinions on the gameplay and some of your favorite parts of it and least favorite parts?

thank you in advance!

No. All of the continents are seperate, and you cannot fly from one to another without using the warp gates (or the HART drop pods, if you don't want to bring a vehicle). There are a ton of superb technical reasons why this is so...in gameplay terms, vehicles are powered by energy from the warp gates, and traveling too far causes them to crash.

As for the spawning question...I have no idea. Never played the game.

Ok ill tyr to answer some of this.

No you cannot travel from one continent to another over water. There are 3 warpgates on each ocontinent linking them to others. You can however access any continent immediately from your sanctuary through the shuutle. but once a continent has a population lock on it, you will no longer be able to travel there.

You spawn at either Bases, Towers or AMS- advanced mobile stations. And it depends where the frontline is. Most likely u can jump right in, cuz most fighting takes place near a tower or base. And as for suiciding, you cant do this nemore, people used it wrong or something in Beta, so itsno longer a valid command.

Hope that answers everythin! :)

well hell the way kidriot just summed it up, it doesnt really sound like its worth 13 bucks a month.

what about this so called RPG aspect of the game?
is it worthless?

and the ranking system, what do you get out of it?
I noticed the last two posters had their kills and ranks posted in their signatures... what do u get with ranks?

AS you gain rank you earn Certification points that you spend toward customizing your character in new weapons, vehicles, armor and abilities. You have to have a Certfication for something before you can use it. Higher level characters simply have more Certs and access to a more variety of options.

The game is more than just kill, die, respawn and do it all over again. There is a high level of team work envolved and a lot of tactical variety if you have a mind for that sort of thing. If you can get past the point and shoot aspect of the game and learn to think while you shoot you'll really enjoy it.

Like most online games there are a lot of children playing who really can't see past the nose on their face and spend most of their time simply shooting and dying, so of course they get bored with the game. It is what you make of it.
