I've been playing as the Vanu, and the faction is serious diadvantaged to the other factions. There guns suck and do little damage and their MAXX's can't do much against other faction maxxs. Being able to stafe left and right don't help much when the other factions have homing missiles. I feel like abandoing my level 6 vanu character and trying the other factions.
You can avoid all the enemies fire but that don't help because they can just stand there and fire at you, and you'll still lose. I am no newbie at gaming. I play Mohaa and Quake regularly and almost always come first. I am going to give the game one more try with another faction. If anyone else feels the same way. Post a reply.

As an organised outfit - no, they are NOT underpowered.

As a solo guy starting and lvling up tp 10 or so - yes they are underpowered.

I don't play vanu I play NC, I really don't think there underpowered though myself. If your only br6 then i dought that you've used all the weaps in combat and can really have an opinion on wether there at a disadvantage or anything...just seems like people following the crowd.

I noticed today when I went to log on to emerald that every server needed Vanu it said. So maybe there just low on numbers ATM.

You can be really good at quake and blah blah blah, doesn't mean your going to kill everyone you see, I'm sure their's ALOT of people who will say they come in on the top on almost every game they play.
Anyways the game doesn't owe you anything if you don't find it fun then quit no point in playing if your not having fun.

Good at quake? Sure I was really good at UT, but PS is.... PS.

its not Quake, its not UT, its not even Counter Stike! (oh my)

Even the sniper rifle in PS isnt one shot one kill, the whole playstyle and aspect of the game is different to most games.

One of the few that comes close is a Half-life mod called Natural Selection, why did I choose that? its a FPS Team game, one of the few where you have to work as a team to suceed. No solo mans in there.

PS is similar, you do well when you work together with other people, its not really a single person game, sure for example Counter Strike is team based, but if your really good in CS you can pretty much do everything by yourself. PS is different as you come to reply on different players and different Certs.

As ive said before, try the lancer out ( anti-vehicular cert )
Its alot like Quakes railgun really, learn to use it and its the deadliest weapon ingame!
Infiltrators fall in 1 hit
reinforced fall in 3 hits
If you carry 2 of them you have 12 shots before you have to reload, that gives you enough to shoot down a reaver and still have shots left...
I took out 3 reavers at a time once with this fella

i for myself just play the vanu they may seem underpowered but they actually aren't the lancer is IMHO one of the most badass weapons ... just as alcatel said 3 shots on a reinforced he's dead 2 on cloakers dude not 1 ... but u can easily win duels with gainst snipers on ranges to 250 or 300 meters ...8 or 9 shots on a reaver he's history ... 5 on a mosquito same ... max'es terra 6 shots NC's without shield 6 with full shield 8 ...

the heavy weapon the lasher isn't so bad .. ok the mini chaingun and the jackhammer are badass but the lasher has the nice effect that it almost ignores the armor of infantry ...

what i expirienced through gaming with my friends i have seen that all the quakers and cs players etc. had a big disadvantage to Tribes 2 gamers ... play tribes2 you#ll recognize why so many T2 players have switched to PS and now have an easy start ...

in tribes 2 it's about the same thing with the sniper rifle as it is in PS you shoot you wait u hit or maybe not ... just that in tribes you shoot u wait forever the shot hits or maybe not ...
