Speciality Outfits

The other day I was driving around in my new lightning on Konried. I was driving along, with not a care in the world, when all of the sudden, I am taking fire from all side! I spin around and see a basalisk. I fire on it twice, and kill it. I begin backing up and fireing and I see about 4 more basalisks! I began shooting at the next one and then I died. It was insane! I choose my respawn point and I got a /tell that said, "Nobody messes with Hell's Satans!"

It was a whole outfit of people who do nothing but drive basalisks. It was great. Not only was it very unique, but they where also kicking butt! The patrolled heavily used roads and bridges taking out individual vehicles and people.

Has anybody else seen a unique speciality outfit like this? I would love to hear about it.

EDIT: A couple of incients of the word squad being used instead of outift. And I said outfit instead of lightning. Thank God for this edit button. :D

Hehehe, I orignaly incorrectly said I was driving around in my new outfit, I have edited it to say lightning. In other words, I killed it with my lightning. :D

ah nice job man but i think my vangaurd would pwn it but the funny thing happened on my first night as NC me and my friend (another NC who was gunning for me in my vangaurd) we were at hossin at N Naum tower i believe and i drive the vangaurd into a huge number of TR and were just running ppl over and blowiing em and and its just pure chaos so i look up to see i took out a bunch of CDL hows that for driving a vangaurd for the first time RUnnnn u TR cowards cuz im gonna guy u

I got taken out by an infil outfit. I was in a friendly area using a tree for cover on my right and part of my front, and I was sniping. After I'd taken a few people out a MAX took notice of me and started charging. I got out of my zoom, out of my crouch, stuck my bolt driver in my holster and tried to make a run to a nearby friendly tower hoping friendly's would get him before he could run me down. I tried to back up but couldn't. I tried to move left but couldn't. I thought for sure lag was killing me and I spun around but nothing was there, but I still couldn't move (except to spin around). Then I dropped dead.
It turned out that there were 3 infil right up against me, keeping me from moving and that they then all knifed me at one time. You can't even get upset at a well formulated idea that works perfectly and kills you, that was good stuff.

Anyways, thats crazy, I get broadcasts all the time in the Sanctury of sqauds recruiting for a theme, all AIR attack theme(Reaver, Skeet), and there was an all tank team once, and then one time I joined a all sniping squad, and we took 73 NC lives in 1 hour, not too shabby. Its fun being in theme squads, cuz they can kick ass!

My outfit ain't as interesting as basilisks, but once I start the game I'm gonna have a Heavy Weapons unit. Everyone will have Heavy and Special, Heavy and AV, or AV and Special. We'll be indestructible! mwahahahahaha

I dont need a whole bunch of "satans" riding around on bassilisks claiming to be form hell.

I think the Flower Power Team woulda been a better outfit name.

i think specialty outfits are a great idea. ones that would be especially good:

an all stealthers outfit
an all reaver or mosq outfit
an all max outfit (yeah they couldnt hack but they would just go to a place that being attacked and mow everyone down

For awhile my outfit was toying with the idea of being an all Veanguard outfit... we tried it out for a night or two and while a squad of 5 Vanguards rolling through in a nice formation was an awesome sight to behold (and if the /tells I got were an indication pretty intimidating to the enemy) it wasn't amazingly effective...

1. It was slow, so often by the time we reached fights people with Gal loads or AMSes would have gotten there already and the fight might be already over nevermind the tedious long drives we sometimes had to make.
2. Because of #1 we didn't get many kills nor were we in the SOI long enough to reap the exp.
3. Again, because of #1 by the time we got to many base battles that weren't over the majority of the fighting had moved inside rendering our specialty useless.

There were other problems too though these could have all been overcome with more effort. Anyway, people decided they had better things to do with their cert points and some people just simply didn't like driving or gunning a Vanguard, so we dropped the concept. Still, I adore the idea of a unified squad/outfit who specializes in certain things and I wish those who stick with it (both allies and enemies) good luck.

Yeah Basilisk squads are funny. PlanetSide's version of Biker Gangs ;) Too bad theres no1 in sanc willing to give up another cap for a fun basilisk squad.
