View Full Version : Planetside need be more tactical.... our responsability?

Well, i was played for a few days PS and i can tell PS is not the game i wanted. I wanted a game more tactical and team played, of course i think part of its, is our responsability. Someones thinks this is a new CounterStrike but with more players, but, is this Sony want?, and we want?. Im not of course. I remember Operation flashpoint and how i wish make greats tactical-strategical battles on it. Of course is our responsability. But part of it lays on Sony team, ho need to make the game more letal ( CS vs DOD, why DOD is more slowly.... more letal too). Its my idea of this game must be.... what do u think?...

Hopefully after a few months people will start to play a little smarter.. right now everyone hangs out in one place while the other team hacks their way behind their frontlines.. with no resistance.

Yup. It will change as people become more experienced.

There are pockets of organization, just need to find em.

Also, once you get to know some enemy commanders, can setup outfit battles and objectives.

Will be fun. Just use your imagination.

Despite comments from the dev team about adding more things to force more teamwork and tactics I do think its all ultimately in the player's hands. I also think, however, that once more people get their CRs up and more people cap their BRs there will be a lot less mindless fighting and a lot more strategy for those interested in pursuing it.

Indeed, it is up to the players - as it should be. The potential is definitely there, it's just a matter of how much you're willing to use it.

Get in a good squad with a leader who knows what he is doing. Even better, try to get in a good outfit.

A good squad makes a huge difference in this game.

Of course the players have to be more smarter in play and understand the team play is more fun than solo play ( in most cases), but if the dev team dont work on it too, cant do nothing for the game becomes a new CS, the dev is a teamwork too. the points of game i think have to dev is:

letal: this point is obvious, if i can rush and suport 10 - 15 shoots, then why not try to kill him before him kill me, is like the CS works.

Squads: much squads, run in battle hot droping or rushing the bases, but, after rush they act like solo players, running around without one particular mission to do.

Locks: the only thing we win taking base (we win other things, but, no in consideration) is XP, and not more. the game is a taking-lossing-retaking game for now, think we need more tactical elements here.

Warp: is fun be in future, but, dont fun for me warping every where i want, then, why take bases ( only for XP, see above) if dont win tactical advantage for it. If i losse a base and a continent, the warps must be locked for it. i think.

PD: i like this game, and i hope in future be more fun. Trying to help.

I don't think they wanted it to be another CS. But i agree there needs to be more incentive to taking bases and ESPECIALLY defending em. I think cont locks should last for 3 hours, where no one can HART or warp in. And for defending, well it also would work, but right now u could give people a maybe 50 percent xp bonus on all kills made in the Base SOI that they just captured? Just my two cents, but yes I look forward to when im BR 20 and CR 5. (thats when the real fun will begin for me) :D
