Anyway my terribly biased opinion:
No lasher love? It could use a little help.
More ammo on Quasar is good except you are now nerfing damage from AP ammo? Why? I already have to reload twice when killing a max.
Pulsar changes are all good. It just better be equal to the gauss or at least the cycler.

In the next update, the Vanu Sovereignty will be seeing two major weapon enhancements:
1. Pulsar was boosted in damage slightly per shot against soldiers. Also, the AP fire rate was increased to match that of Standard shots.
2. The VS MAX Quasar had its default ammo increased from 40 to 60 shots. It's AP damage is ever so slightly less to compensate, but its infantry damage is the same.

Mind you, I am not looking forward to being beat by a pulsar at 150 yards... really used to the Gauss owning at that range, and any damage increase with the pulsar COF, That's gonna suck!
Also glad I won't laugh evily to myself every time I see a quasar and pull out my rocklet, knowing that he can't kill me before I kill him... Sigh, another AI MAX I gotta be afraid of, and not ambivulent towards... SIGH

Well, grats guys... it's obvious that Vanu needed an adjustment whether things were REALLY out of balance or not because they're majorly underplayed, period. Hopefully this'll make things even more exciting on all the servers...

Bleh NO lasher help.. the pulsar already had more dps than the lasher at close range, now it will be worse.

The word "major" refers to Medium Assault and AI MAX as being major weapon classes. Also, refers to the fact that these are the major topics of discussion and agreement in the VS feedback we receive. Sorry, didn't mean to mislead.
The Magrider hitbox is the same as the hitbox for the other tanks. Its ability to strafe make it more of a squish machine, but its hitbox is no different from the Vanguard's or Prowler's. SmokeJumper and Stryker are looking at this further to evaluate how it really is working in gameplay.
We do, however, expect these changes to bring the VS more in line with the other empires. If they are still underpowered, that gives us room to tweak more. In any case, if we have to tweak further, it is better if we still have to tweak upward, rather than making the VS overpowered and severely disrupting gameplay.

Kinda strange they tweeked the pulsar and not the beamer... the beamer has soo many more flaws than the pulsar, the damn flashlight seems like a more likely cannidate for tweeking.

And oh, whoever asked why they nerfed its AP damage, well, it's because the Quasar is an AI MAX, it's not suppose to do well against armoed units.

They didn't improve it other than the increased magazine capacity. That won't make one bit of difference against infantry for the most part, since we don't have to reload to kill. The issue was that we have to reload much more relative to our killing power.
The argument was that we have to reload multiple times in fights with other MAXs.

I am happy with the Quasar clip increase tho :)
Not sure where you guys are playing, but Vanu kicks my ass every night.
I have a feeling the lack of popularity of VS might be due to perception issues rather than real weaknesses with it's weapons.
Just my 2cp.

Yeah I have perceived that the lasher and thresher blow chunks after >1000 kills with vanu.

Are you talking about the Pounder? Because it can't MAXs nearly as well as AV mode on the Quasar.

I personally haven't played pounder or DC max so I cannot directly comment on them. <sorry i misprinted above, stupid headache is distracting me!>
I have played all VS and NC max though. The NC AI and AA max are leaps and bounds better than VS max.
Quaser with AP mode took well over 100 shots to kill a full health max.... that was over 2 reloads with old one, 1 reload now. I can take a max down with scattercannon max with 3/4 clip and with the AA NC max it takes just over a clip..
The quaser didnt need a turned down AP mode, it sucked pretty bad already.

Yes. And that is with the Vanu max jumping, dodging and everything else to stay alive. If that fight is in a tight indoor area, it is game over for the Vanu max most of the time.

There are a ton of suggestions that these tweaks will not make a difference. But the point is, we have to wait and see how it plays out once it is your hands. From what I have seen, there will be a significant improvement. These are the two most referenced weaknesses of the VS. The rest, Lasher, Lancer, etc. are questionable, as feedback goes both ways. We don't see the problem with them at the moment. But then, each weapon is always open to evaluation.
As I said before, if the current adjustments do not make a difference, we can tweak upward again. We'd rather upgrade twice than upgrade once and then hanve to nerf later. We recognize that the VS would love to be the overpowered empire for once, but we'd also hate to give that to them and then have to take it away.
Lasher is fine..... mmkay.
At least my NC will get more love and attention 8)
