I've come to the realization that two of the best ways to kill infantry in the game are either an inilftrator suit or an AI max, which both cost a lot less in terms of cert points investment compared to an exo suit, med assault and heavy assault.

My current combination for certs is:
infiltrator suit - 2 points
Advanced hacking - 5 points
AMS - 2 points
Reaver - 4 points
AI Max - 3 points
AA Max - 2 points

In terms of base defense, the Vanu Max's primary advantage is that it can be perched on top of door ledges and other objects, allowing you to shoot incoming enemy without hitting your teammates, and more importantly not get shot by fellow teammates. Not including the extra armor. It also allows you to hug splash damage maxes and have them blow themselves up on you.

Other nice things you can do with this combo:
Drop on to the roof of an enemy tower and hack your way in (dont have to worry about mines, spitfires, darklighters). Hack CC, surge to basement, switch to AI max, rush back to CC to defend your hack.

Spawn an AMS inside an enemy base by hacking the vehicle term.

Hack enemy AMSs and drive them away.

Or my favorite:
If a base's CC is heavily guarded, sneak into enemy spawn point, hack a term and switch to AI max. Jumpjet on top of the middle eq term and its a shooting gallery, there is no safe point in the room.

By BR20 with this combo, you can trade out the reaver for a mosquito and have adv hack and combat engineer.

Sure it's not the ultimate zerg rush configuration, but its a lot more fun to play. The fact that you cant fly anything in exo armor really limits a lot of game potential IMO.

I've also found with surge and infiltrator suit you can rack up way more kills and get more XP per kill then you could going toe to toe with wave after wave exo infantry holding a lasher.

A Skeet smokes infantry easier than anything in the game, provided there are no AA MAXes around to save their miserable ground pounding asses.

I use a similar set up as a NC.

inf suit
hacking/adv hacking
skeeter
max(either ai or aa)

It works great for me because i tend to lag in the zerg battles. I dont lvl as fast as some one who can camp the wave, but I have a lot of fun with this.
