Ok new patch is up... thoughts??

I only had time to mess around for a few minutes during lunch, the skyguard looks very nice though. Good graphics, nice guns, fun to drive.. big thumbs up.

Hotspots are completely bugged now, none show up on the map for anybody.

I like the new way of doing population, with the previous way it simply encouraged the ZERG. Now they just show if there are slots remaining on the continent (for example-- NC slots available 100+) instead of the % left.

They didn't put it in the patch message but they changed decals. They are much larger and there are more of them on vehicles now. For example my sunderer now has two large decals on each side.. looks VERY nice.

So any other thoughts? Some ideas..

1) How does skyguard do in action?

2) Are the VS helped at all by the pulsar and max changes?

3) EMP and Orbital strike-- overpowered or not good enough?

4) Hack/lattice changes-- how is this effecting the battlefield?

1. i never found a reaver to shoot before we died

2. I havent personally used but i hear the pulsar is good now

3. Cr 1 so i have no clue on that one

4. I like this because the NC hacked Hvar on Oshur and every1 spawned there and re took it (but they rehacked and took out the power, pretty much a must now making ANT runs a lot more needed and solo hacks impossible) also it makes adv. hackers have a bigger role because we need those terminals hacked so we can zerg our way to the cc

Amerish with the hack/lattice change was no different. Well, the major difference was that the attacking forces (TR and VS) just kept zerging and zerging from towers and AMSs until the bases lost power.

I would be reluctant to take out any plane (except galaxy) out for the first few days after skyguard is introduced. Everyone and ther uncle's dog will be driving one of those around looking for suckers to shoot.

..or just going fer a ride to test the new vehicle ;p and with that machine gun, i don't see why u'd wand the harasser tbh, apart from to save 1 cert point :/

Well, you don't need a tech plant to get a harasser.

Harraser will still be a better "scout" vehcile. You can only get a skyguard at a tec plant linked facility (not requirement for harraser). And interlink bases' turrets won't shoot at harraser, not sure if that is true of skyguard.

Also with 3 cert points you can do much (hacking, engineering, medical, adv weapons...) and get much better vehicles (unless you wear reinforced). With 2 cert points your options aren't that open. The harraser is still a good buy for that amount.

1) How does skyguard do in action?

1A) It does very well against aircraft and infantry. Aircraft especially though. It's got a habit of burning it's ammo so have to be aware of that. It's top speed is 80 kph, handles at least as well as the Harasser, and is available ONLY at Tech Plants. Don't know if that last part is a bug or not but, it's the way it is right now.

2) Are the VS helped at all by the pulsar and max changes?

2A) Not sure I've seen a few people pleased with the new Pulsar and saw more people using it today but, may just be testing it so no comment really.

3) EMP and Orbital strike-- overpowered or not good enough?

3A) Well apparently we had a couple people using it today on Cyssor but, never got a chance to see it. Have been seeing alot of larger battles between bases though and alot of AMSs. I mainly heard that they were being used on AMSs further uses will come in time I guess.

4) Hack/lattice changes-- how is this effecting the battlefield?

4A) About the only change I've seen is that hacking continents has been severely slowed down. It seems like now empires are taking out spawn, power, then hacking bases. It was a new twist to have to consider the spawn tubes even after a hack helped keep us awake during that 15 minute hack process.

So far its been great. The NC launched a massive attack on the TR home continents tonite and the orbital strikes were fun to watch when the TR were slaughtered by them :)

It was even funnier when we found the bug that wouldn't allow us to hack the base closest to our sanctuary, forcing us to take out power at another base, drain the NTU's and then hack it, or when the ridiculous gap in population between the VS and NC was closed and the NC was immediately pushed off of all 3 continents.

1) It's ok. 1 mine can take it out.

2)With the changes to the lattice and respawns thats a big NO.

3)Haven't tried emp yet, OS is weak!

4)I like the lattice changes.

I don't care for the spawning while the base is hacked. It seems that every base has to be totally raped now. I can get that kind of gameplay for free and with jetpacks even. You practically have to take a full ant to every base now. IMO they slowed the gameplay way down with these changes. Or maybe it just felt like a cluster fuck tonight because the hotspots are fubar

Well ever since they put the patch in the game has been pretty buggy. From HARTS not working properly, to not being able to hack some bases, and i personally fell under the terrain line and had to recall to sanc. to get out. I think the features are nice but the bugs suck.
