Do you hear the spawn tubes "scream" sometimes?

I can't figure out why this is. Unless the spawn tubes were programmed with feelings or something. And spawning is incredible painful, akin childbirth perhaps.

I get that everytime, I doubt it has anything to do with deconstructing. Maybe a bug, maybe not. It is always a chick screaming though. Hmmmm, odd.

Some times it's not screaming... sometimes its a very loud explosion or a compelation of explosions.

ya i have heard the explosions too (first time i heard this : in a deserted base i heard an explosion, so i get out of the spawn tube with my gun ready and i'll tell u what, i killed that wall!! :D

Faulty Spawn Tubes maybe? The massive number of people that spawn daily has to take an effect on them.

I know why this happens. when you die and click respawn there's that little bit of load time between giving up the ghost and appearing in the tube. during that time any action that happens within rendering distance of you is 'qeued' up in your sound hard/software. when you appear your computer says 'ah-ha! I need to play all these sounds because now planetside is calling for them!' so it plays all of the sounds that were backlogged.

from here on out I'm speculating. my assumption is that due to the bugged nature of these sounds being played they are not scaled down in relation to distance between where you died/released and where the sounds came from, so your system plays them all at full volume as if they happened right next to you. well, right next to you is the spawn tube you appeared in.

Thats what I thought too but it appears that the sounds are very repetitive in nature, this shouldn't happen as this game has quite a diverse sound eco-system, or so to speak;). This leads me to believe it is not a matter of your comp playing the post poned sounds from your death locale... However I do not have a plausable reason for the explosion or woman only screams...(last time I checked there were more male avatars than women.)

meh, it may have been in beta. a quick glance over the OF *shudder* dev tracker didn't reveal the thread, but I know I read this question asked over there and that was the answer given.

I think that it was a bug, but they left it in, since you would prob scream if you were "spawned" :lol:

It's a bug...I think I read some where in future patch notes they'll fix it. Some sound thing

I'm fairly sure it's the sound of spawning. No, seriously. :p Next time you're camping the spawn tubes of a base, even before someone appears on the screen, you can hear that sound go off moments before they spawn.
