During last nights AGN, there were a number of "Man this si awesome" posts, but there were some hate and anger, and people commenting to me that they were a little bored......

Well, lets address the hate first. The hate seemed to stem from the fact that many of the "cool" features, like the Liberator, the new skyguard, and the like will not see the light of day till atleast the 6 week to 2 month mark from launch. There were several negative comments about the Devs just waiting till "after" the first month for most people had passed, I.E. the free month.

Well.... there might be a grain of truth to such. There may not be. Lets just assume that some of the new features are being held back till we the players start paying en masse.... Is that really the "devs" jsut trying to milk us? No, be honest here, IF such were occuring its the marketing and pencil pushers. The devs are doing everything they can, but even they answer to a higher up. Its business people, you don't give everything all at once, you string it along a bit. Granted, this isn't the nice way, but its how businesses ensure something.

That something would be profit. They aren't making this game, and runnign jsut so we could have a good time, they are doing it cause thats how they EARN a living. So the next time you think something is being pushed back, consider the fact the company has to make a few bucks too. It may not be fair, but is life, its an MMO game, and thats how they function.

Now for the Anger. Most of the anger was cause "THEY DIDN'T ASK MY QUESTION! WTF? MINE WAS BETTER!" Yeah, maybe it was, well guess what, I asked a question, but it never made it to SJ. There were QUITE a few in the Que, and only a finite amount of time to accomplish this. It wasn't personal, just relax, catch the next one and its all good.

Now, for the boredem factor. WTF people! If you are getting bored with PS, then go back to Quake, UT2k, CS or what ever FPS you came from. Personally, I see the game in the following light:

1. Its an endless round of Counter-Strike. I grew up as it were, in the FPS online gamming world playing CS, and talk about BORING! 30 min map cycles, one simple objective played in a 5 min span... Versus playing to win base after base over an unlimited amount of time, with infitine variety of how you get the job done. Thats how I see it.

2. "The enemy never defends, its soooo DULL taking bases some times." I too have run into this myself, and its normally the SL fault, he wants the easy base capture.... No, force em to get into the fight, find the biggest fight and go after it. Don't sit around taking empty bases, go FIGHT! That makes the game OH so enjoyable :)

Finally, guys, relax, not all your questions are gonna get answered, not every base is gonna have 500 troops on teh wall ready to let you kill em, but if you change your perspective from "Where is the end game" To making each base its own little "game" it will keep you going.

All business do it, but it's still annoying and I think it's inappropriate.

If a company says a product will be available on a certain day (to paying customers) then it should be available on a certain day.

It's a shame that the people who manage business are actually managers - most of them are complete twats.

Erm. 3 CDs and a 10 hour DL straight from the box is enough content for a release.
"Let's see, insert CD 876Zg-Delta8. Ok. Now after waiting another half an hour, I insert CD 876Zg-Delta9. "
