Osurac from Platoon 3092 (http://www.platoon3092.com) has produced a nice training file on tactics for taking towers. You can download the movie from their site here. (http://www.platoon3092.com/P3092Tower.wmv) We also have the file mirrored here in our downlaods (http://www.planetside-universe.com/files/index.php?file=66) section. Thanks to Osurac and Platoon 3092 for making this available.

good tips for noob-amateur comms.

its unfortunate the squads i have aren't that organized. also they spent too much time when in 10 mins the tower will be gone. sigh.

lol i found the commander good, but too much wasted time. Honestly whats it matter if they have that tower or not? there were 3 other bases owned by NC lol

Another thing i forgot to add, which i was thining about at the end of the video: This is great and all, but if it takes 20 minutes to secure a tower and get out of there every, single time, i aint gonna get nowhere.

This video teaches a lotta stuff to new peeps..but...uh, when my squad hacks a tower, we drop on it, take it, then go straight to the backdoor, the base is more important than the tower, if we take the base, and the enemy has the tower, we can storm them with 40 pempire friendlies, if we hold the tower for 25 minutes, and the enemie now know that we are prepping for the base attack, then there will be MUCH GREATER resistence in the base... so... sometimes it better to be aggressive and move hastily

good stuff. just a small thing to try to. Works great for my outfit. Is full speed hot drops. Either gal make right click wp centered on tower or command. Go full speed max height, when the mini map gets big over the tower everyone drop. great 4 keeping gal alive. plus they have less time to reacted (they dont see the gal stopping on the tower) again great training vid :) I'm sure opter will like it ;)

Very nice video, very informative, especially the squad leader part, there were a few technical problems, not enough mines/spitfires and you need a few snipers on the roof, but im sure most of them came from a lack of properly certed people. The low gal drop really bothered me though, NC have sparrows, if one or two had caught you with a gal hovering that low and moving that slow, your squad would have ended up exactly one Galaxy short of having a Galaxy. I can't really fathom why you carry a pistol when you have an assault weapon, especially since you seem to use lots of grenades, but i guess its personnel preference. You seemed to be doing alot of inventory juggling under fire, but you pulled it off fairly quickly so you probably wouldn't get sniped, but bad things can and most likely will happen. As far as the guy wanted in the galaxy, there is water nearby, you all have rifles, he shouldn't be a problem.

Overall, extremly well done drop, good job commanding and apparently a very nice outfit to boot, altough i couldn't pass certain judgement until i heard/read what was going back and forth. One thing i do know, the Terran Republic needs alot more of people like you.

Oh and sniperpaladin, full speed hot drops = Stupid, you can almost garantee that 2-3 people will be taken out of commission because the pilot couldn't be bothered to slow down to half speed. Be it from getting whacked by part of the Gal, or over/undershooting and landing in a minefield, the risk just isn't worth possibly saving an extra 10 nanites.

Thanks for the responses troops!

The video was recorded on a VCR through a TV out from a graphics card. The VCR recording was played back through a TV in on the graphics card. I used Pinnacle Studio to do some simple editing and the voice over.

You can use FRAPS for direct video cap, although I haven't used it for that.
