View Full Version : The command channel
Am I the only one who finds this "feature" almost useless?
Once you're outside of a base, besides /tells, there is no way to coordinate between outfits if you are trying to organize a larger force.
Every once in a while I'll send a message down the command channel just to see who's there. As we're moving to the next objective suddenly things go quiet because suddenly I'm no longer 10 feet away from them so they can't hear me.

I tell you what would help in orginization, allow you to form a chat group outside of your squad and outfit. They allowed you to do this in DAoC and it was very helpfull.
As for the Command channel, I think it needs its range boosted significantly, as well as letting commanders talk between the ranks.

aye, people use continental and global chat more than command. and yes, i see people sending global messages asking about an ant's status...

Thought command chat was continent wide? Or is it SOI based?

seems like cr5 command chat has global range
but sometimes it doesnt work at all.
like you "/c hi"
and nothing pops up

It's buggy, but it's fairly nice for communicating between CR5s when it actually works.
