Base capturing...

Could someone explain to me ALL the details about base capturing and stuff like why they need to be linked and everything.

1. find a linked base
2. walk in a base
3. kill the bad guys
4. hack the CC
5a. wait 15 minutes
5b. kill the enemies respawning inside

and you need links because the devs decided you need links. nobody wants to go write an essay because someone wont read the game info, ask specific questions.

Links were added because it was a nightmare before they were there.. you could hack away and next thing you know the enemy is behind you hacking all your bases.. ninja hackers could hack an entire continent, Just wasnt fun at all.

what is a linked base though and how do you know its linked?

on the map there are lines connecting the bases. gray if you have no link, yellow if you do have a link, and your empire's color if you own the bases on both ends of that link.
