Mother pours hot oil over model daughter's face

The mother of a famous Vietnamese model poured boiling cooking oil over her daughter's face, severely disfiguring her, because she felt spurned, police said.

Pham Thi Hanh, 49, was arrested in Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday shortly after tipping a cooking pot of hot vegetable oil over her daughter Vo Thi Thu Tram, 22, while she was sleeping.

Mrs Tram was in bed alone in her apartment at the time of the attack.

According to the city's police newspaper, Hanh told police her actions were prompted by anger because her daughter ignored her once she married a foreigner and became rich from her catwalk exploits.

A doctor at the Cho Ray hospital where Mrs Tram was receiving treatment said her face was completely burned from the attack.

"This will almost certainly put an end to her modelling career," she said.

Hanh told police that she had worked as a street scavenger to support her daughter while she was growing up and had felt rejected by the lack of care her daughter had shown her in return, according to the Tien Phong newspaper.

In the bid to bring her daughter back into the family fold so they could all live together again, Hanh decided to destroy her beautiful face, the daily added.

Along those same lines, there has been an ongoing problem in the island nation of Sri Lanka (off the southern tip of India) over the last few years where jealous boyfriends would assault their girlfriends and splash them in the face with sulfuric acid.

It wasn't a couple of isolated events either... it was, like, the in thing to do for jealous and overposessive men over there. Sick, sick world. The U.S.A. doesn't have a monopoly on fucked-up people.

Black kids, deaf was signing with a a friend and some gang bangers thought he was tossing "signs"

So they beat him and his friend up, and his friend tried to them the guy was deaf and could only see hands...

I think what should be done is the government or the FBI or whatever, whenever they see shit like this, they should mark the offenders for death. Let's see how fair they think it is when a sniper round blows a hole through their skull.

I'm serious, the way it works should be:
1)Crime is commited
2)Offender has the chance to repent and beg for forgiveness
3)If not, they are marked for death.
4)In the case of a repeat offender who earlier repented, they skip strike two and go to strike three.

Half-decent murders should be treated like they are now, but if someone tortures another human and ruins their life forever with that intention in mind, that's about the most inhuman thing you could do, worse than murder in my opinion. Like that black kid whose eyes were gouged out, his attacker should be punished in the above stated way. Give people something to think about before doing that.
