Hi,
Do Engeneers get experience for:
Mines they deployed that kill
Boomers they deployed that kill
Turrets they deployed that kill
Repairing armor
Repairing terminals... tubes...
repairing vehicles
If anyone knows, let me know!

If your deployable kills something you get exp.
That is it.
EDIT: You must be on the same continent to get exp.

Any time a deployable gets a kill, the eng gets the exp (unless they are logged off). Repairing dosent have any exp rewards, though.

As a die hard engineer, I probably get 40% of my kills from deployables. Once you learn to be sneaky with them they will start bringing in a lot of BEP for you. And be sure to replace or relocate them often. Mines don't do you any good if they are just sitting on the otherside of the continent in an uncontested base.
A good thing to do is set up a favorite that contains as many ACEs you can carry and just enough ammunition to maybe save your butt if you run into trouble. This way you can run out and set up everything in only a few trips and then get back to actually participating in the fight.
i really think they should add a small exp bonus everytime a engie/medic repairs/heals someone..... who agrees? maybe like 5 exp for each 10 points healed/repaired

Thats a great idea, but it could be exploited.

Good idea, but just like the medic too exploitable, I mean just shoot a squad or outfit tank, then repair, do over for more exp.
Gotta think of way to not exploit it....

If you do it to many times to the same person / object, you get less and less XP till it reaches zero. Think that would work?

Maybe if the game remembered whether the damage you took was from FF or enemy fire, the medic could be prevented from receiving xp from healing FF damage.

If a squad is working well together the chances of an engineer in it repairing the same people repeatedly might increase.
Think something else is necessary.

This reminds me of the death penalty in World of Warcraft. Off-topic by the sound of it, but it's related. In WoW, you lose no exp or items or anything. You just have a temporary stat deduction, and a trip to your bind. People think that sounds really squirrelly, not losing anything upon death, but it's just because you're looking at it the wrong way.
To bring PS into the picture, you are getting an experience bonus when you heal or repair your allies. When you heal or repair your friend, he lasts longer in a fight, because of you. Due to your efforts, your squad will be functioning longer in battle. Because they're functioning longer, they will gain more kills. More kills translates into more XP for you.
So in reality, you are getting exp for it, provided the guy you just healed doesn't get run over my a MagRider a second later. It's just not obvious.

But, what does that WoW story have to do with the price of tea in china?

The experience/loot you are losing when you die in WoW is the experience/loot you would have still been gaining if you were still alive, rather than running back from your bind point to your death site to continue whatever you were doing.
And to add to the above, the real question isn't whether dedicated Medics (medic+engineer -- let's be reasonable) should get experience for healing, it's whether they are effective enough to justify one less full combatant in a squad. To that, I'd have to say that no, they are not.

Oh, I knew that.

Would it have helped if I used a "why don't you lose Realm Points for RvR deaths in DAoC" analogy instead?

No, because I havent played WoW, or DAoC. I don't like RPG's.

Good, because they're pretty much all crappy. You're better off.
(Note: WoW hasn't been released yet, so its quality is as of yet unconfirmed.)

That would probably be why I havent played it.

Obviously you are not playing in a decent squad that works together then. Engineers ROCK, medics ROCK. Used effectively, your squad potential increases a hundred fold! And an advanced medic is litterally a life saver (pun not intended! :D )

If you looking in giving exp for healing and or Repairs, you need to think about the Hackers and give them exp for hacking vehicles.
That would also be a exploit I guess.

Did they change something in a recent patch? I know for a fact that when playing an Infiltrator and jacking vehicles I was getting experience for it. I picked up something like 120 or 150 BEP for an AMS.

I jack AMS's all the time and have never gotten xp for any of them, not sure why you would have gotten xp for it.
