Couple nights ago I logged on to my vanu server and found the one person on my friends list that ever talked to me on that server was on. I sent her a tell saying "sup? you in a squad or want to start one?" She tosses me a invite and I join them on some island or another. It was a pretty full group and were basically sitting around waiting for a hack to go through, the whole time one of the guys in the squad keeps flurting with her and she flurts back a little, so this encourages him and he just starts going all out, and at this point another of the appearantly very lonely guys in the squad starts piping in about how much money he makes etc. The first guy I guess started sending her dirty tells, she sends me a tell "Watch this, your going to laugh your ass off". She suggests we start using voice chat cause shes getting carpal tunnel. We all turn on voice chat and name ourselves off so we can id voice to name. Gets to her and she says her name (I wont say it) and its this husky guys voice ROFL!!! Two guys quit the squad so fast I think there keyboards exploded! Haha cracks me up, heres a lil lesson, MOST (not all mind you) girls that play FPS games are actually guys that prefer the smaller silouette so there harder to hit, bear that in mind captain Cyb0r!

Yeah, I think for the most part, people know 95% of the female armors playing Planetside are actually male. I have squaded with 2 female players on Konried, and both I can confirm were female because I heard them on TS.

^^^

That's why most women A.) Never use voice chat and have male character models and/or B.) Don't play online games.

What a sad world we live in. :P

Hello,

My wife plays, and she is an avid gamer. We use a TS server of mine for friends and family though, not the in game chat since we've found it to be buggy (go figure). Anyway, she talks on TS also, and she has more kills than most IRL people I know! She was never a fan of other FPS'ers unless we went to a LAN party, but even then she would get bored of them quickly. PlanetSide so far has been much more fun for her, and she's been sticking with the game to my surprise. The simple truth is that most women are not FPS fans, but I know for a fact that there are a few out there who are.

If you're flirting with a "girl" in an FPS, prepare to be shocked. If I do(I don't) I'll continue to flirt with the guy to be funny. "BUTTSECHS?!?!?!"

Anyway, never believe a girl is a girl without more proof.

Hello,

No, my wife doesn't have a sister, but there are plenty of girls who hang out with the guys that frequent the many LAN parties around here. You'd be surprised probably to see the women getting involved with technology fields today, and the ones that are getting programming degrees, becoming database admins and web admins, are also drawn to gaming by default since it is almost par for the course for such people. It isn't just men imho. It is the field you work in... People who work a lot with computers tend to play a lot with them also!

One more note about women on the Internet. If you do confirm that they are a female, don't take any amount of pictures as proof of their identity. Trust me. I know from a really bad experience pre-marriage to the woman I love now. <cringe> Even if she sends you multiple pictures, never trust pictures. The same goes for names. You have to meet them in person to really be sure.

Saying all of that though, I have met many people from online only, and more of them have been real and good people than those who have not. I have gained many real friends who have endured for years through the Internet, so it isn't just a bunch of freaks out there as some suggest. You just have to be wise and careful about how quickly you trust people.

Chics that play comp00per scare me. i prefer all my women to know nuffin about computers, cause i know nuffin, too. i know enough people that are all, "Dual quad megafiers and coaxial bipolar connectors" and it freaks me out. i usually end up breakign every computer i have cause i suck. racing and skating... and carrying around 80lbs boxes of sulfuric acid, that's the life for me!

Protst,

You first name wouldn't be Richard, would it? I'm just curious... Someone who knows me from my work is on these boards, and he recently found out I play PS. Your handle isn't familar, but carrying boxes of sulfuric acid makes me think you might be him!

Hello,

I'm in trouble now! If you are around for the next LAN party we have in the northern Virginia area, I'll let you know about it. As I was saying above, it is fun to get together with folks you game with online at a LAN party. Let me know if you are interested. As I understand it, your schedule won't permit anything soon. I'll keep you posted though...

One of the vp's of my company (symantec) said the other day "PC games are the "golf" of the technical industry, most social networking in our industry is done through gaming"
