here, you'll need this. you've just asked a question that alot of people are asking and additionally getting really hot and bothered about. currently there are no incentives to take a continent other than bragging rights. devs have said they want this to change, but nothing specific has been said.

Well they are going to impliment bonuses for cont locks, at the moment there is only one benefit, enemys cant HART into enemy cont locked continents.

They should implement a maximum , so it can't be exploited, 5000 exp bonus for anyone standing on a cont when it gets locked.

That's how it used to be, but it was apparently changed since then, then I was gone for a long time (in which time a lot of shit happened here), so I'm a little confoosed on the subject myself.

You can't use warpgates to get in but now you can't also get in either way when there is a population lock although there is a trick to over ride that

I've heard around, that the capped bases, depending on what they are, will give a benefit of some kind to the capping empire until its taken over by someone else. Maybe just more from the rumor mill, but hey.

That i partly correct. Any capped base will give a certian benefit to all lattice connected bases. Im not shure if they implimented this yet, though.
