Anyone pre-ordered PS yet? [Archive]

I just order it (didn't know you could yet) for $58.98 (I got next business day shipping). It is due to ship out 3-14. Anyone get it sooner than this?

I never understood this, why not go to eb and prebuy it? Then you get it on the first day. Why pay shipping and handling and not get it until a day or two after the people who went to the store have it? Do you not have a car?

I pre-ordered through EB at the mall. I DO go pick up the games the day they are released :)

I never preorder over the net.

I always preorder so I don't have to worry about running to the mall at 9AM to get a copy of the game. If I had not pre-oreded BF1942 I would have been out of luck so I make it a habit to order and not worry about it :)

Because Sony should send me my copy the same day they send all the copies out to the stores. If so, by the time a store gets the game, puts it out, I'll be playing mine. IMO, people how order it next day over the net, should get it 1-2 days before people who go to a story and buy it.

Now, if the day they ship mine to me, stores are selling it, that would suck. I would of just pre-order it at a store.

I've sooo learned my lesson with pre-orders, either by mail or net.

I've done this a few times with games in the past, sure enough, everyone around me is off and playing while I'm sitting on my ass waiting.

pfft. I'll just hit the local retailer, save the shipping and snag it when its here....and use the money I saved on shipping to buy beer.

nuff said.

Bah...never had a prob yet! Trust me...you will be glad you pre-ordered/reserved your copy. Gamestop has already recieved a tremendous amount of pre-orders, gives them an idea of how many they will be able to put out...probably won't be able to walk in & grab a copy right off the shelf, Sold out is the answer you will get! GOT MINE :lol:

If you really want a good scoop a month early go to EB worlds site and order the stragity guide that is comming out a month earler in Febuary. ;)

if you pre-ordered from ebworld.com you'll be fine...they usually ship new releases out a day early...meaning you'll get it in the mail the day it might start popping up in *some* of the stores (if you do next day air of course)

ebworld.com says Pre-Release ETA: 3/14/2003, but Gamestop.com says Pre-Release ETA: 3/4/2003. I hope I don't get mine 10 days later...

They put import taxes on computer games? They don't even do that in the US I don't think...

As a fellow UK'er, I can say yeah, our government taxes EVERYTHING to a huge amount, which is why our electronics/computer components generally cost 25% more than yours :(. For example, i bought 3 $11 dvd's from amazon.com, and I had to pay an extra $15 when they arrived, to nobody. It's awful.

I don't plan on importing planetside, normally games don't take too long to get released over here. Unless it goes the route of DAoC, which had seperate european servers and USA servers, which was the worst idea anyone could think of. We only had access to 2 servers that were english language :(

If that's what we get with planetside, i'll buy an american copy when i'm next over there I think. I don't want to have to import :(

I havn't preordered yet cause i don't know what kind of release they're doing. If they're doing the old kind, releasing in the U.S first then the rest o the world it would suck for me =/. I'm hoping they do what most big games do now and do a world wide release at the same day =)

Do not put any confidence in those dates, they are pure estimates on the part of ebworld and Gamestop.. They sound like good estimates heh.

The true date comes when dave says "Planetside has gone gold" at that point its off to the factory for duplication. Which typicly takes 2 or so weeks - then we know a true date :)

From what I've read in the gaming magazines and on the game sites I visit most of them vary from early to mid March. Darn you Hamma:p the gold edition will be better. :D

If you live near one of the biggest malls ever like I do just hit Best Buy they are the BEST thus the name Best buy ! that's a given though. WHEN they order a copy of the game they get like 500 and since they order so much they hit a price break and sell stuff to people for at least 10% off !!! I bought vice city there for 40 bucks where others payed 50 or more !!

They always have what you need its like a grocery store of video games ! so if you live near one of these babies don't preorder just go here cuz pre order is crap I ordered black and white and it took a week after the release date to get to my house

its a good store that hasn't sunken down to the low level of K and wall mart ! It is better than all those stupid small stores because those only seem to get like 5 copies of anything and you have to pay more for them too.

Just because I'm giving some positive advice about not pre ordering and going to one of these doesn't mean its time to pull a HEY I'm a saracastic bastard;)

Best Buy stores differ all over the country. Some will get them the direct day and others do not. Usually in my area Gamestop or EB will tend to get them 1-2 days ahead of time.

Don't put to much confidence in any of them. I used to work for gamestop and now as a Best Buy employee you don't always get everything on time. It always depends on how they feel the game will sell. Considering most of the time they look at the pre-orders then order the copies for the store. I myself will pre-order from EB considering ive never had a problem with them and I know what to expect. Since the Best Buy store i work at tends to recieve games a few days after others. :(

Your right about the Kmart and Walmart thing at least Best Buy hasen't started carring groceries and all that other stuff. :thumbsup: But, I tell you what, at least no one else has ever posted a comercial about a store on this forum execpt you, Bighoss. ;) BBs a cool store though. :D Not to mention I never said anything about preordering in my previous post. :D If you took it the wrong way well. . . . . .not much I can do bud. :cheers: Just simply saying if you like a place so much to put there commercial on a post you might want to work for them. :thumbsup: No need to call me a bastard, I was born while my parents were married and I do know who my father is. ;)
