We all paid a great sum of money for the game and also pay each month to play it. I think sony should have worked out there issues (lag, bugged doors, etc) in beta. Do you think they should charge us less do to these problems? Discuss

They'd never do that. They'd lose too much money. Remember: the world revoles around paper.

Sony defeinetly has enough money to simmer down our payments - but its not like they will!! Yea the bugs should have been fixed in the beta, and in the recent patches, but i guess they want us to play in a miserable war against lag and bugs. Just try to make the most of your money...

It's not that bad. I shelled out $120 for a year and I'm good to go. I know of no bugs right now. Lag is bad, but I have Minimum Specs.

Or should we pay more, so they can afford to put more money into more stable servers and hire more people to upgrade the server? No? Didnt think so either.

There may be bugs but I hardly ever encounter them, in my eyes there isn't a serious problem :) I play on Werner and I experience a bug once or twice a week. :)

Plus now the EU has imposed VAT on our online gaming I still am going to keep my sub :)

In a word, no.

I play an average of 4ish hours a day and aside from a door not opening I haven't encountered any bugs for weeks. Now if this launch had been like AOs, then yes I could see you point. This game is more than playable as it is right now. The bugs in game currently are little more than annyances, hardly anything catastrophic.

I don't mean to sound harsh but if you want a 100% bug free game, MMOs are not for you. EQ has been out for 4 years and there are still bugs. As long as I can play the game I can live with the little annoyances.

Lag is another issue entirely and is not something that you can place the blame for squarely on SOE. Hell I can't close quater fight for crap but, since I'm using an AMD 950 and a GeForce 4 MX, I expect that and choose to drive vehicles, do some CE and sniping.

Patience.

A game like this has never been done before.

You can say WWII online did it, but they didnt. That shit is still in alpha like 2 years after release and its considered a sim.

Things will smooth out, as I recall the start of EQ was pretty rough. Just chill.

It pisses me off how impatient gamers are, just sit back and wait. Stop worrying about everything. If you cant handle PS come back in a few months.

Best read your contract, specifically for clauses saying that "your game experience might change at any time".

I really do think they need to fix the bugs and lag in the game badly. But, if getting "locked" in the CC for about 30 minutes isn't a bug, then I don't what is.

They wont lay off the prices, just think of costco (if u guys dont kno that stor....err, warehous kinda plac, its a very big plac wit lik shitload of food and stuff, its lik all components of every stor in 1 big warehouse....but no porno:( ), they get like more than 10,000 people a day,an averagly most people pay 100-200 bucks, few pay round 50 bucks but lots buy TVs, computers, bikes, etc. So that is like around 100,000 dollars a day, times 7 days, 700000. u got your self a million bucks in less than 10 days. now multiply by 4, u got $2800000. Then also peeps who have to pay for they're costco cards, (i think 30-70 bucks they are). So there u go 100,000 peeps a week payin 50 a month, now u got a shitload of money in ur back pocket. But then u got 50+ peeps working the foodstands, forklifts, cashers, guys just waltsing the halls, and the guys in the backroom doing "acounting". So there goes about $200 to each of those workers a month. Now u got so much stuff baught, u gota spend a shitload of that money on stocks, so u get ur tvs, chicken, dvds, all back on the shelfs, which is pretty much 28 mil. so now u use the mony from the card owners to pay that off, u are now left with a few 100. I dunno wat u would do witht hem, pay the truckers or sumtin, or pay for repairs. now u should have 52 cents left, enough to get u a butterfinger.

Now compare this to the life of Sony. maybe 54 cents, but still, i see no chance of the prices going down.

and now i'm guessin none of u understand wat the hell i said up there......

I should imagine CostCo make a significant amount of money, even with the low margins on food retailing.

Remember all their stores are out in the boondocks / industrial areas. Rent is cheap there. It's just a warehouse a car park. That's it.

Because they are so vast, they buy in bulk. One gets heavy subsidies for buying bulk. They might be paid to carry certain lines.

One of their main costs will be transport. Again, this is cheap because they'll have so many trucks.

There stores are exactly the same all over the world. This duplication reduces costs further - nothing is bespoke. It's like a lego kit from Vancouver to London (I've been in COstCos in both cities).

They don't seem to have offers running in their stores, so they don't have to change fixtures/fittings/posters to reflect anything (like, say, an electrical retailer on the high street would).

Most of their staff will be on minimum wage + slightly higher. There'll be a high rate of staff turnover because it's a crappy job - so there's no reason to incentivise anyway.

They make a lot of money otherwise they wouldn't do it. Same goes for Sony. They can easily reduced the price of the sub.

ahh, i'm young, this is how i think it works, now u made me think of wat the hell is happening on earth, thx a lot. :p :D

still, comparing costco to sony, they are both very alike.

If you have less then 512 ram and are complaining about lag, you're an idiot.

If you have 56k and complain about lag, you're an idiot.

If you run things in the back round (Kazaa, Active virus scan, etc.) and complain about lag, you're an idiot.

If your not playing on a local server and complain about lag, you're an idiot.

With that out of the way, the rest of you can now complain about your lag problems.

As for bugs, they will get less noticable as we go on. Just give the game time. You cant ask for continual new content and expect it to be bug free.

Amen. have faith in SOE, because they service the concerns of their customers, even if it takes a little time. If they didn't, why is there a dedicated Dev. Team and bug-squashers trying their damnedest to work out and polish up their game? This an original idea, and one which still needs a bit of a trial-by-fire before they can really get the ball rolling.
In closing, I have every faith in SOE.
