Cheating Or Tactic?

I'll get straight to the point. I'm at some area on some continent and i get killed. I spawn in a nearby base to find it's bein spawn camped by Barnies. So... i spawn in a nearby tower and grab me a MAX suit, deconstruct myself, and reconstruct inside said base, and run amok( which didn't last too long, god i hate lancers). One of the guys i killed says he reported me for cheating, and quickly put me on his ignore list, just as i had the perfect thing to say. I doubt he even reported me, if he even knows how, and if he did, i don't think anything will happen. But do you think this was a cheap move, or an intelligents tactic, or somewhere in that grey area??

ok so guy was spawn camping which in itself can be considered lame even though i will do it too when hacking a base. Yet you who brillantly decided to fight back in the appropiate way were accused of being lame and cheating?

I'd not worry too much about it.

yeah, the guy was probably some noob...i spawn DC maxes and reconstruct inside their base all the time

Hello,

I'm getting used to this tactic by now, and I see maxes come through the spawn tubes while we have a hack often. We just have more people with more firepower waiting. Instead of holding a gauss, half of us are holding decimators! A TR max came through once yesterday, and it died in 2 seconds flat with only three campers.

Now that people can spawn at a hacked base, spawn camping the room is completely reasonable. What's the alternative? Let them have control of the room, re-equip, and take the hack back?

Yea, its not lame to camp the spawn anymore, or you'll just let all these guys equip themselves and resecure, spawn camping is just part of the game now - its just defending a hack

I'd say its more lame to just respawn right in a camped spawn room. n00bs do that, while you did the correct, skillful thing.

someone asked this exact same question on the official forums, and they even got a spork response. design team says this is a perfectly valid tactic. one that they purposely planned as possible.

I was just about to echo what SumYungGui said... Spork said it was a-ok to do, they have no plans to change it.

More then likely he did not understand that you can spawn elsewhere then deconstruct, he thought you just spawned in a MAX suit somehow.

Yup I've done that one myself (though I play as a sparrow mostly so I tend to get schoolled by any other maxes :( )

I always assumed that's why they did it.

If you have a tower close by and your trying to unhack your base, get your squad suited up and pile through the spawn tubes.

All I see are numpties spawning naked and getting owned.

Soon though, all that will happen as more people do this, is the first thing defenders will do is blow the tubes up and we are back to square one. In the mean time surprise a few of those spawn campers ;)

That's why you suppress them, suppression style, with your suppressor.

Seriously. Come out of the tube strafing and you can usually get some kills because most players are incompetent.

I just wish the doors on the spawn tube wouldn't open up until I'm good and damn ready to step out into the big, bad, ugly world. it blows chunks to hear my comp chugging along while I'm trying to fence someone with my suppressor.
