Notice the population cap labels. This is not an isolated occurence, there are always 1 or 2 continents pop locked while the rest sit empty. WTF is wrong with our people?

Same thing happens on Johari/NC. Its because most people just want to go with the big fight/zerg.

well lookas if the home conts Ish, for, and cery have been fairly well controlled as well as searhus. Now they are taking out cyssor and then the rest of the world. Although amerish would have been a good place to kick barney butt with attacks coming from forseal and ishundar.

You guys are lucky the Vanu in Johari are ALWAYS split up bad, and thats why they almost always lose when theres enemies around.

Yes, the TR on Emerald always go for the action - which turns into the lagginn zerg party

Then after we head to Amerish or Cyssor - cuz that seems like the place to go for the TR... we get raped in one of our home conts., i know some people that are devoted ro taking care of Ishundar, Forseral, and Ceryshen, but theres not lots of people that like doing that... so there becomes a problem

You find the same problem with each empire on each server. Nothing new there. Most people gravitate toward the big battles, which is often even encouraged by the CR5s globally telling everyone who can to get there butts there.

I ignore most CRs and just go where I feel like and usually have a great time participating in the smaller lag free skirmishes. You can always find someone running around on the lesser populated empires. If anything, start a hack and you see people show up before long.

I'm you want to bait some action on a low pop server, hacking a base works very well. I managed to fry 4 vanu on my own when they tried to rehack a base I grabed on a continent.

Johari NC finnaly pulled off a overall winner bracket yesteday which i believe has been the frist time since I've played retail. Our leaders are idiots, they encourage people to zerg stupiud broadcast comments likee "Well looks like everyones heading to amerish" Myself and some others convienced our outfit (hell yea LAG!) went and locked down our own continent with minimal resistance, got some pretty decent experience out of the deal too and some of the most fun ever fighting a coordinated fight against much larger numbers, (and kicking their asses) all in all it was good times.

im one of those people that will always go to ishundar b4 any continent if its in trouble. I love ishundar, as well as forseral. I consider myself a peacekeeper, meaning that I dont necessarily always wanna go on the offensive and start something, altho i do sometimes, and i certainly dont enjoy participating in the zerg at least most of the time. I enjoy holding a continent, be it that im one of the maybe 10 TR's left on it. Last night, TR had just finished rallying on ishundar and taking all the bases. Afterwards everyone left except me and about 7 or 8 other TR. NC tried hacking marduk, we stayed and repelled the attack, while also scavenging towers down and hacking them. There was plenty of small 6 person battles going on, which IMO are the most fun, cuz it truly tests the skills of the person.

The best fights I have encountered so far is on an empty continent (or so we thought) we came through a warp gate onto Esamir and our squad of 8 members in a Sunderer and Marauder and an AMS and proceeded to take bases along the southern sector of Esamir.

We got through 3 bases and cleared out the roads/towers of enemy deployables. After this last base we jumped back in the transports and proceeded (we replaced the marauder with a skyguard) North.

Well we were out in the open far from a friendly base when above us we spotted an air convoy of a mosquito, two reavers and a Galaxy.

Thankfully we werent spotted and unfortunately our skyguard opened fire bringing the escorts down on us. We immediately put 2+2 together and realised the convoy were heading to the base we just took.

Well, we all headed back at full speed. I think now we beat them to the base and setup a defense.

Well the first wave was slightly mediocre :) A couple of infantry assaulted and took the nearby tower while we defended the base.

We fought of three infantry at first and then there was a lull, but we were shocked at what came, multiple MAX units, 6-7 infantry with assorted weapons, a magrider and some other ground vehicles.

The battle progresses like a yoyo, we would fight our way to the tower and then get beaten back :) lasted about 2 hours and was virtually a squad on squad battle, they hacked the base and we resecured it twice :)

Anyway :) I hate going to pop locked continents, but some of our outfit members still insist on zerging for kils/xp :(

Have you heard our leaders? That's the problem. Hell, one of them was such a baby as to /ignore me for telling him to keep his chit chat to himself and use /g for orders.

Aye, TR Emerald CR5s are morons, ive only seen two of the broadcast, Gammarkantis thought it was neccesary to tell everyone on auraxis "STFU n00b" and malone just begs for more AMSes and ANTs wherever the zerg is, goddamn idiotic fucks need to get their shit together, set up a command post, and actually command.

Probably because there are people to fight. Notice that Cyssor is the only continent that has lots of fighting on it really. Going to a locked continent may let you break the lock, but sitting around waiting for the hack counter isn't very fun. Therefore most people are going ot gravitate to where the enemies are.

On Konried the problem is a bit different. It's not so much the leadership (the TR CR5s are for the most part refreshingly competent, as are most of the leaders of the major outfits) as it is Ram and his damned uberoutfit. ELH has 1000+ members - they are the operational definition of a zerg. It's pathetic. I feel polluted fighting with them.

Sorry to see this problem isn't just on Konried.

mmmmm, greifity.

My main greif problem is from turning off names and then killing cloakers. I try to turn off names when taking screen shots, then I always end up forgetting to turn them back on. Next thing you know, I see a cloaker move. *BAM* ... shit.

Anyway, back to the topic... I have been going to the 100+ continents lately and the rewards are much lower, the stakes are much higher, and the risks are through the roof. I'm just glad I don't care about experience anymore, because I don't want to go back to the zerg any time soon. It is more fun to get my ass kicked for the last square inch of a continent than to follow the idiot parade. I highly recommend it to anyone who has reached a good working level with their character.

The only CR5 I've noticed is Malone. While I wouldn't necessarily call him one of history's great generals, I like that I can ask him if there is an ANT on the way to some hacked base on the continent and he usually has the answer.

Sadly, it's not that easy.

People are ultra-resistant to listening, and 95% of the responses you'll get to trying to organize people are along the vein of "OMFG STFU" or "STOP SPAMMING U NO0B."

CR5's on Emerald usually promote the zerg :(

Jarlo

NC CR5 on Johari DEFINATLY promote the zerg. They always say-- big fight at Mont or some such and it just gets totally out of control. It is hard to convince people to go to a non contested continent and break a lock-- it takes about 30 minutes before you get any action that way.

In other news, I give up and when this gets a better response (didn't get a screenshot of the 30-ish "yeah, man!" tells) than me trying to seriously organize stuff, I feel obligated to be obnoxious.

Bah, bring the Ahriman Corps en masse to Konried. We need players like you (and frankly the VS could stand to have some semi-competent leadership from what I understand.)
