Which empire do you like as runne up?

i dont know it changes often, i guess.... i guess NC, cuz vanu are irritating witht heir fancy energy crap and i just dont like em as much asi used to. plus i have more friends in NC than i do in VS.

How many of you have even used the Jackhammer? I get the same amount of kills as I do with the Mini-Chaingun. I'm even able to kill people who are using the Jackhammer, because I'm sitting there crouched at decent range while they're trying to get close enough to use it.

As for the topic of the thread... I honestly don't know who I would pick. I have Vanu and NC characters on different servers that I play every now and then, and like them equally.

That's because, despite what TR would like people to think, the chaingun doesn't suck. I don't consider it overpowered, but it's not the pile of crap that everyone makes it out to be.

Oh, and my second empire would probably be NC just because I <3 the gauss and enforcer.

The CG is still ok inside, but its like the jackhammer used to be. Right before it got powered up. Its like the CG and Jackhammer have switched places =/ I WANT TO SNIPE WITH MY CHAINGUN AGAIN ^^ is that to much to ask...

west45/NC/emerald/br17,cr3
west/VS/Johari/br15/cr1
west/TR/markov/br8/cr0
west45/VS/werner/BR4/cr0 ( only played this char for half an hour)

and about the jackhammer.....

its fine.

you just need to stay out of the JH user's range.

you just need to stay out of the JH user's range. exactly, people need to think, they should get a Bolt-Driver, jump ontop of the CC, and just snipe them while they come into the caproom, because, you know, its such a huge area.

Yes.

The chaingun is fairly balanced right now, IMO. The lasher is below par and the jackhammer is above par.

Yes. HW are not sniping weapons. You want to snipe? Get a Bolt Driver.

If you're the only one in there then yeah you're kinda screwed. Of course that goes for anyone who is alone in Planetside. Hopefully you have back up like say a DC or a couple infantry with Decimators. Also don't bother shooting a MAX who has it's shields up. He can't shoot you with them up.

Say the enemy has 10 infantry in the CC though. You as a pounder can clear the entire thing faster than a Scatter Cannon and definately faster than a Quasar. So I guess we should nerf the pounder? No. Different empires, different strengths. We have a shotgun thats awesome is close quaters. You have a MAX than can kill large numbers of people faster than just about anything short of a CR 5 orbital strike on a packed AMS.

Seriously, I like fighting against TR. No Jackhammers.

BUT, when my locker is running out of looted Jackhammers, I try my best to find a fight with NC. I love using the Jackhammer.

Pretty much the only reason I like going against NC is the Jackhammer loot. It's like in EQ, and you need a certain drop from a MOB.

I would have to grudgingly give TR the upper hand with NC taking second and my home empire the Commonpool Sovereignty takes a nice, solid, dead last.

personally, I'd go for an absolute ground level redesign on the dual pounder MAX. giving one empire that kind of AoE damage without division of damage among targets is just so far out of balance I don't think any reasonable amount of nerfing will ever do the trick. striker also irritates me by locking onto everything. anti-vehicle, anti-air, anti-max, all rolled into one stone-stupidly easy to use, overpowered cert.

I honestly do not know where all this crap about the jackhammer came from, it hasn't been changed in forever. nobody said anything until about a day and a half after the TR MAX 'nerf' (and believe me, that was most certainly NOT a nerf in any way shape or form. if you want to see what a real nerf is do some research on DAoC rogue classes). I'd give up my asstastic jump jets in a heart beat to get the MAX shield. yes I know you can't fire, yes I know it takes a few seconds. I'd still love to have it over my borked, bugged, rarely useful jump jets.

as far as my own MAXes. pff, dunno. they all have their own special brand of suck and I avoid them...I mean whose the friggin dillweed that decided we should have a DoT attack in an FPS in the first place? then why the FUCK hasn't he figured out that our horse hockey DoT isn't stacking yet?
