He looks Vanu, but then again he doesn't look Vanu, and that MAX looks kickass. But it's not the Vanu MAX :confused: Also the boxes are slightly different. One has 'RP' and one is 'Teen'...

Yeah that's what a Vanu MAX looks like, there are small differences. But nothing too big.

The box art was created out-of-house a long time ago when the Vanu MAX was still in the concept stages. Thus, the in-game version is slightly different (and cooler, IMO) than what is on the box cover.

Marketing has been notified of the discrepencies, but unless something else has to change, it's not likely that any major changes will happen to the box art.

That's likely to be the official box art.

When I first say that boxart for the pre-sale orders, it made me think they were scams. God I hate marketing, its the most counter-productive section of a company.

I hope they compleatly rework the bot or this game wont sell with the people that havent heard of it yet. I think it realy does look like a pair of clay models.

You'd be suprised at the effect of box art on someone that only has cassual knowledge of a game. Besides, they want to sell as many copys as they can, dont they?

Ok, then be honest about this. Have you ever, EVER, walked into a EB or a CompUSA and just looked at games, picked up the first box that looked interesting, and we off and got it. Sure, a box is supposed to catch your attention to get a buyer, but nobody just buys it for the first picture they see, they look on the back, the inside cover, etc. PS is doing exactly what they want, and it's working, they have a fucking cool big looking machine thing and a good render of a light. It has bright colors, nice depth and a good look to it. Why WOULDN'T you pick it up? If I didn't like it, I would pick it up and be like "What the fuck is this ugly shit! OH it's called Planetside! What bullshit!" Now Sierra has your attention and that person might look it up sometime on the internet. Overall, PS is on the right track.

IMO, i could care less what the box looks like. I care more about the game. Although a box can get the attention of some people just browsing, This game will speak for itself. I mean geez, we are all drooling over it and know tons about the game and its still quite a ways away.
