I don't ever remembering this being a problem, but my mom started complaining about it yesterday, and now it's bothering me.

every time i open a new web page, url, type in the adress, click the link, whatever. the browser will kind of freeze for a few seconds, then the page will load. so it's like, taking longer than it should. but i don't think the page is actually loading in this time, it's like my browser is preparing to take in information or something. so it will just stall for 2-3 seconds before the progress bar actually moves. is this normal or is my connection messed up?

also on my moms computer, her entire pc freezes during the 2-3 seconds, can't move the mouse or anything, where on mine, just the browser dies.

try a different browser like Opera or Firebird and see if it does it with that?

if not it may be Internet Explorer.

It could also be a virus? got a decent AV with up to date definitions? if so do a full scan.

It could also be that hotfix for WinXP

Check the add/remove programs for Hotfit Q811493

if you see it remove it :)

I use avant, which is a spinnoff of IE, and my moms was doing it hardcore on IE, and i don't remember it ever happening on firebird, maybe that's what it is, just IE. but it's not bothering me much, i haven't noticed it today so i dunno. and i have norton but it's outdated by a few months. i never run scans cuz i haven't had any problems, and all the defenitions are old.
