Ideas that I have

A great idea for people with BR20/CR5. When you reach these supperior levels you should be able to get some kind of empire upgrade for one specific thing.
Examples-

Armor: Maybe raise the damage you can take and give you a choice of new designs for your armor

MAXs: Improve the abilities they allready have, along with a few new styles to choose from.

Vehicles:For each empire it would be different. Like for the Vanu, if you chose a vehicle upgrade it would give every vehicle you spawn, hovering abilities instead of wheels. For the Terran it could place a automated dual 20mm cannon on each vehicle. For the NC it could put a 50mm cannon on each vehicle.

Weapons: An empire specific weapon should be available.

NC = A weapon that takes two rifle slots and you have to crouch to hold it. I'm thinking of the most powerful carryable weapon in the game. 2 shots takes out any vehicle

TR = Ability to hold two of any weapon.

VS = A smartgun. This is about the size of the pulsar, and when fired, it seeks out an enemy for a direct hit. Powerful, but not too powerfull. 2 or 3 hits will kill a reinforced.

Deployables: Something to spruce up the CE role. All of these would require heavy asslt to opperate, and would function independantly if inside tech plant SOI.

NC = A mortar, with maximum range

TR = Dual Chaingun

VS = Not too sure about this, maybe a souped up smartgun, or a laser beam of some sort.

Medic: Dragging bodies to safety so you can heal them, along with a patch on the arm so waiting dead people can see if a medic is near by.

Empire specific command rank 5 options:

I haven't thought of anything empire specific for commanders yet.

Please tell me what you think. Your thoughts on my ideas, improvements, and your own ideas.

Edit: When you reach this level you would only be able to choose ONE upgrade.

by that i'm guessing you mean use at the same time two of any weapon, in which case :eek: two jackhammers on second fire :D or two sniper rifles

Oh, dual alt firing jackhammers :eek:

But I'd be max hunting like nobody's business with my dual rocklets :)

The dual weapon idea is cool, but think of how hard it would be to accurately fire two rifles at the same time. However, I think two Repeaters or AMPs would be badass. Would be interesting to see this implemented into the game for all the Empires to use; along with the clever idea for a body drag somebody brought up awhile back. All good ideas.

The Dual gun idea might not be good for heavy assault or AV. Once the Mini Chaingun is cranked up a notch, somebody firing two of those would be just like the dual cycler MAX. Anyway, keep the suggestions coming.

Hmmm, a DC max that can hack, repair itself, heal itself, and use Surge.

I'm not seeing the problem here ;)

I like the medic being able to drag bodies idea but i think that the dual weapon skill should be limited to pistols and maybe included in the special assualt cert.

Im NC and even I think that the whole supa tank killerwep is over powered. I like the Mortar idea tho.

Yeah, i've always liked the idea of dual pistols, dual anything else would be havoc, as expressed in ..... this thread here (http://planetside-universe.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8671&highlight=Dual+Pistols)

still would love to see it implemented, though this was during beta, so some ideas may need to be tweaked.

CR5's could have different orbital strike options?

the TR BR5 could (along with normal EMP/Strike) call down a specific TR strike that would say have no or little warning and would have a low damage but would travel over a small course (orbital tracking)

i.e you would select the BR5 strike, and you would be presented with a line (like a waypoint bar) on the main map you could paint it onto the map and adjust its curve or leave it straight.

This would then call down a strike that fires say 7 times along the course you selected.

so you would get 7 individual strikes along a certain line you selected

The NC could have an overload function on their normal strike that would increase the damage on the strike by say 50% and increase the footprint of the blast also.

The VS could have an alternative blast that rains down plasma in a stream. the blast will not be as strong as the normal orbital strike but it could spread a "wave" of burning plasma over eveything in the location (infantry nearby would die even after the strike hit from the burn damage.

All of this would make it a little too overpowered, as almost eveyrone out there will be BR 20 CR 5 befoer you knwo it, just watch.

And afact about teh mortar: The devs stated before they even released beta that the woudl implement absolutley NO long range weapons.

The best and safeest thing to do would be to allow some form of customizable armor

The only problem about all of these ideas is that the devs also are very adamant in the fact that they stress skill over rank. I have heard in many a dev interview about the fact that a BR1 character could still effectively kill a BR20 character. Due to this I don't think that you will see any advantages to having a higher BR than the fact that you can have more certs.

Exactly. The only upgrades you'll see at maximum ranks are going to be cosmetical.
