Stealing Weapons and Vehicles

Do you thing that stealing weapons and hacking vehicles will have a major advantage in battle or will it not be that big of a deal? Say if one side were to get one of each of the tanks so they could have all three tanks in one assualt. Just an idea so that way you have all the technology one your side. Well let's see what you think.

Im not sure how big of an effect it will have. But I am sure it will happen frequently ;)

I think it would be a tactical advantage to have every weapon and each vehicle on one side so they can go toe to toe with the same ones.

I'm sure it'd be more useful in small skirmishes away from big battles, that needed quick getaways. It would also be great for a group of travellers to be assaulted by a scout vehicle, and somehow beat it and end up taking it away as the prize.

I'm sure that support roles like snipers and medics will have a nice fat hack cert. Think about it, support guys aren't directly in the fight, so when a few guys get sniped or blasted out of their respective vehicles - whose left? The support guys, so they go grab the enemy tank and suprise the enemy with their own tank.

Heh, that's what I was planning on doing. Cloaking medic that can hack :D. I think it'd be better than trying to go full time hacker. That way I can at least help keep my squad alive while I wait till we reach doors or the command console of the base for me to hack, instead of just standing around waiting, or trying to help out with my measly pistol.

But they can hit, the shield absorbs a little damage and then you're meat. Also we're not sure how powerful this shield is, so why do you assume its the best?

NC can turtle up and hide, VS can run or Jump away. TR doesn't need to hide or run, we just stand there and kill everything. :D

TR's fighting style = :spam: the old fashion spray and pray you hit something before you get blown away by the firepower of the NC or lite up by the lasers of the VS

Heh, this is turning into another Empire debate! I don't know about the rest of you, but I personally had a hard time choosing an empire. They all have their strengths and weaknesses, they're all pretty well balanced. I finally decided on NC because I thought it suited my personality best, but still you gotta admit that the 3 empires are going to be pretty well balanced. Who knows, I may even change my mind after I try the game out for a while. Probably not, since I've already chosen NC but still, there's no way to know untill we've played the game :).

I think it will be hard to steal a tank in the midst of battle.. but maybe if you find ones being unoccupied a lot it will be a big thing to steal them

I didn't mean just tanks but, every empire specific weapon and vehicle. I think your right that it will be hard to hack a tank but, that's why it will be such a trophy to bring back if your empire dosen't blow you away first and ask questions later. :D Unless the vehicles switch colors to tell that side it's a friendly and not a charlie.
