first of all i need a way to find out how much processor speed i have. second i need to know if this product

will help processor speed and third i need to know how easy this is to install and whether i should have it professionally done or if even a stupid kid like me could figure it out thanks a lot

Follow these directions to get your processor speed:
1) Click the "Start" menu button
2) Click the "Run" button
3) In the box, type in "dxdiag" and hit return
4) You should see a box called "System Information". Your Processor type and speed will be there.
As far as the processor, do not go for the Barton cores. They do have nice cache, but unless you're doing massive amounts of number crunching and data base maintenance, I would go with the XP 2600+, only if your mobo can handle it.
You should have some documentation on what your motherboard is. Double check and post here what it is. I'll be able to tell you your maximum Speed upgrade. Tell me what you're running now as well.
Also, many times something as simple as adding RAM solves a lot of FPS lag and hardware lag problems. Post how much RAM you have in your box. I'll be able to tell you how much RAM you can put into your system as well.
