Ok, I can understand If say... The VS used the Mag. for something else other than a clod-hopping pond-skipping lawn mower, but unfortunately, thats the way its used. I started this thread so ppl can give constructive and destructive criticism to the things that bug them in PS, and to see what suggestions they offer to fix them. So, gimme ur gripes, and untl next time, kill the LAWNMOWERS!! :ncrocks: :vssucks:

I dont mind getting run over by Magriders that much, what I do mind however (and this pertains to many vehicles, not just Magrider), is that I can be a few meters away and still get hit by it. Those who tell me this is caused by lag, sometimes yes it is, however if I am completely stationary behind a tree and a magrider zooms by me on the other side of the tree I shouldnt die. This is one of the most annoying aspects of the game.

The problem being that this aspect of the game, while annoying, is really the only way to make mass-combat netcode viable.
If you assume that it was programmed the other way - so that instead of hits being client-side, they'd be server side - you could feasibly shoot someone on your screen and they'd suffer no damage.
Both options are fairly crappy, but personally, I think Sony chose the better option in this case.

The problem is the hit box (the size of it) and the netcode/lag. In the case of You sitting behind trees and in bunkers (stationary), is clearly the hit box (it is "too" big). Believe it or not, the same thing has happen to me - both from vanguards as from Prowlers. I.e. all the tanks has the same hitbox.
The reason that the Mag works better as a lawnmower, is that it's highly manouverable. Once You get Your driving down to a tee (can someone please explain that saying to a poor foreigner? :) ) You can do pretty amazing stuff with the Mag. I've had my gunner screaming at the top of his lungs, over the voice comm, as I'm cruising through heavy forested areas at top speed, squishing enemies as I go.
I've named my tank.
I call it the "Purple Shark".
(Actually "borrowed" the name from the book "Fear and loathing in Las Vegas", where there was a car called the "Red shark". Great book, BTW.)

Indeed Knuckles, the hit-zone is detected client side (which IMO is wacked from the beginning). So they could be lagging and see you standing in the middle of a field, while infact your in a tower. No matter, you still get your ass ran over. IMO they should move hit-detection server side, that would screw over 56k I think but really...something needs to be fixed.

Pobably the most annoying thing for me is I'm creeping along cloaked and some NC guy barely sees my outline, turns on his Darklight and pumps one jackhammer round into me.

I normally turn darklight on when I enter a hallway or open a door and get flung back. Sure sign something is around.

Well I'm talking about in the battlefiled...specifically pretty far out in front of a Tower, and if someone runs into me , I start shooting, unless it's a MAX.

My policy is that if I see a door open, and I can't see anything that opened it, I loose a plasma nade to make sure. The flames ignite any enemy infils, and I don't have to waste stamina on DL.
The good infils know to walk right behind enemy soldiers to get into CC room, if a door opens, a whole bunch of guns get raised in your direction, but if they see it's a friendly they let down their guard.

Indeed, most cloakers just waltz in...but the smart thing to do is have some enemy soldier open the door for you and just stalk behind him...and maybe even knife him in thanks :)

For the billionith time-- the HITBOX ON THE MAGRIDER IS NOT BIG!! It is all client side lag issues. You can walk around a stationary magrider np, no invisible hitbox there.
Most annoying for me is spawning in a spawn tube that doesnt open and getting stuck in an ams spawn tube because one idiot is afk.

I don't know if it only works with the infil armor, but I do this all the time. I've even been brought down to 1 health and had a Mag ride over me again and it didn't kill me. For some reason they seem to take pity on crouching soldiers. If I'm crouching a Vanguard normally won't damage me at all. With an infil you end up crouching far more than you would with other chars so you end up experiencing it far more, but I think I remember my sniper in a crouch getting mowed and killed from full health by a Magrider.
