Tribes 3

Is anyone else as excited about this as me? For those not in the know, Tribes 3 (it's really called Tribes: Vengeance.. but feh) is in development and will be released late next year. It's being built upon the Unreal Tournament 2003 engine and of course has beautiful graphics because of this.

Although not many screenshots are available, I do have a large number on my Tribes 3 site. Link is below if you need it.

Of course, what are graphics without kick-arse gameplay? The developers have said that they are aiming to create a balanced mix of Tribes 1 and Tribes 2, and making it more action-orientated which is definitely good news. Tribes 2 was good, but it was a bit slow-paced at times. Hopefully this will make it much more exciting.

well i didnt really play T1 or T2, but T:V looks like a really good game, so i think ill probably check it out once it is released.

It looks tooo much like UT2k3, which I think, personally, suck ass. But if I hear really good stuff about it before, and after release, I may pick it up, since there will be other games to be played, aka HL 2.

I do agree that some screenshots do look rather like UT, specifically the indoor ones. This isn't true for all screenshots though, and since they are using the UT2003 engine and they are only a small way into development, I'm remaining optimistic that it will lose that look.

Anyone creating a tribes site is almost doomed to failure before they start, Tribalwar pretty much dominates that scene :(

Heh, I noticed Hamma. I started a Tribes 3 site and not too many people visit, but oh well. It gives me something to do and at least some people come. :D

Assuming my Tribes 3 news site fails, anyone have an idea for what else I could do with the site while still retaining the Tribes 3 theme? I was thinking of a UK community site, keeping tabs on clans and such. The catch is that this will only really work once the damned game is released. :(

I'm not that large of a fan of TW... i have a few friends...which are more or likely not there anymore (Vlasic, El Mariachi) besides...its always better to build a community than to just join one :D
