Greetings all,
I finally got my comp upgraded, broadband, and a copy of PS, so I am ready to hop in the war.
but first..
I have been following PS thru the forums since late beta, and have came to the conclusion that there are successful VS, NC, and TR armys, and then their are carebears.
From what I can tell, most of the carebear forces are due to poor orginization, lack of a chain of command, and basically just end up running around wasting ammo. One could only glean so much from following along the forums however, and I would like some of the communitys thoughts on which servers have better/worse commanders and orginization throughout the ranks, so I could avoid wandering into one of the carebear camps.
I would join NC, VS, or TR because I see they all have strong points, but would like to join in a competent crew. This looks like the best game to come along in awhile (err.... concept at least) and I intend to play the hell out of it, thanks for all yer thoughts in advance

If I were you, I'd say screw who ever the global commanders are, and find a stable outfit that suits your personality. All of the servers have good and bad leaders, but in all reality, they mostly don't lead that well and you'll be better off joining an outfit. With an outfit you can just tool around and go whereever your SL says to, which is more effective than trying to communicate with the CR5s.

Any input on outfits that are decent, or outfits to avoid?
Outfits Decent = BOHICA - CDL - Liberty & Guns
Avoid = everything else
:D

If they've got more members than you can recognize names hide. You should look into any of the big names here at psu, they are all great.
NCG
CDL
ND
and BOHICA of course ;)

if you join emerald and are nc dont join paw or zerggrenadier.
when you first join paw you realize you are jack squad cause theres like 200 people in the outfit. then you realize your title is "I dont fucking listen" (i dont know if they changed it)

Are there any outfits that run regular missions, or do they mostly just log and find a squad?

What do you mean regular missions?

errr, i mean scheduled outfit missions, getting armor, inf, and air support and going off on raids and such.
I have read about a few bieng scheduled on different outfits websites but I do not know if anyone makes it a regular practice.

Raids? There have been two organized raids on Emerald (on a large scale) that I know of. The legendary NC raid that kicked the shit outta us. And the push on Ishundar which was a TR raid. The NC had Ish, then we came and kicked their asses out.
Was anyone on Emerald, Amerish tonight (7/10/03)? That was the biggest battle I've ever seen. Escpially at Cetan, whao...... Too bad my game keeps crashing

I co-run an outfit called The Gang, we have very small numbers, since most of our guys left for SWG, pissed us off. so we are trying to recruit more members, we didn't really like the way other outfits were doing things. so if you want to join us, we have a TS server and are very vocal and organized, please pm me

Do what I did. Make 20 half-assed friends, make regular squads with them, form an alpha and beta squad, and play. We're all from different outfits, but when we play together, we play to win. We've even gone so far as to develop pincer movement attacks, feints, and zone defense positions. Once they implement platoons, our effeciency will slap itself up a few times too :)

My outfit 7th Legion does "training" every night, where we get an objective and do it. It's usually a small thing, like tonight was reducing a base on hossin to neutral hacking it capturing it and holding it for 30 minutes. Our outfit is very organized, and we like to joke around as well. And our leader says he was like the first commander of the Emerald TR alliance thingy, which i know nothing about. So i'd advise 7th legion, as well as NCG, whom we play closely with and they roxxorz! oh and we played with silk, the leader of HMX-1 tonight. he was kool, so if ur looking for the big outfits, HMX-1 is the big one. i dontknow any other good ones...

I was there on Amerish tonight, in fact, my comp just crashed. I was at Sungrey, and holy cow... I have never seen more TR in my life, thereh had to be at least 100+ TR at Sungrey, ALONE. Even with myself just on screen near the base, I could only get 20 fps, and once even popped my head out, my FPS went to crap. The battle there was nuts!! And it was helluva fun too!
If I were you, don't join NC - they just zerg, I rarely have fun playing them :ncsucks: I do enjoy playing the TR tho, lotsa fun :D

Eh /shrug if you're NC on Emerald Immortalis Vita is recruiting although not very actively. We have good people but our numbers are down atm for various reasons (long story >_< ). Basically we're a bunch of old Tribes 2 teamates who decided to give PS a try.
If you wanna play with us sometime just send someone a tell. TheRagingGerbil, Yetskii, Badisight, Demento or myself (HappylilElf) are probably your best bet for finding someone on with minimal hassle. We're hosted here too so feel free to drop a message in our forums.
For the most part we just get together and go screw with the Vanu or TR as much as possible. Once we have more numbers we plan on doing some more as far as organization goes but for now it's basically just find a fight that looks good and work together to kick the baddies off a continent ;)
