i think that planetside should have artilery, sumthing like, a morter that uses the SA cert, a howitzer that requires its own cert and a seceond crew member that needs no cert like a gunner on a tank, and they should revamp the lightning to be a 2 man SPH (self propelled howitzer for thos that arnt military buffs) like our crusader or paladin SPH's one driver and one gunner
not sure how u would target tho, mabye a circle on radar that shows where it can land, and the circle expands the further away it gets, kind of like a cone of fire cept curving from the barrel to the ground because of fireing arc, and that would allow you to fire over terrain or trees
got any ideas, fell free to express yourself

I hear what your saying, Its been disputed before. The Lightning should stay one man, thats why its unigue...But I hope one day there is a place for some artillery in PS.

Of course, artillary works a lot better when those mighty 125mm shells don't magically vanish once you lob them over a hill too.:D

Yeah, and let's add trenches, and machine guns, and poison gas, take away nade launchers, and boom, we have WW1.
Just kidding.
Artillery would be nice. Solo gunning in the Vanguard is good- setup near a tower in distress and unload.

i think artillery would add a whole new element cuz u could just be hit with a shell and be like WTF so ud have to use recon and infs more and the lightning needs to stay one man but needs more armor

all of that sounds like it would improve the game to me, and i rethought my two man lightning cuz artilery tends to be stationary while firing so dont need gunner

Devs have specifically spoke out against artillery because, and I quote from memory, 'we don't think it's fun getting killed by stuff you can't see'.
then they turn around and put in the liberator with no maximum bomb dropping height. *sigh*

i know about the devs not liking it but they may actually realize that they did the same thing w/ the lib, also it would make infs more useful for finding the artilery and skeets to use for spotters cuz if the shootee cant see what s shooting at him/her, the shooter cant see what its shooting at, so it would need a spotter or lots of luck depending

Wrong. The Liberator is not the same as arrtilery at all.
The Liberator is pretty vulnerable. Sure, you can sit at Max Altitude and bomb the hell out of a base. But, if you have a Reaver or even a couple of Skeeters around that bomber is gonna be down in a matter of minutes.
The idea of Arrtilery is NOT fun. Sitting a few thousand meters from a base and blasting away..wtf kind of fun is that? You want to bombard a base? Get a couple of tanks and sit on a hill and fire away. You already have the problem of few people wanting to bother with the required support roles. Like Medics.. Ant Delivery.. Troop transport and Defending.
Alot of what we hear is people screaming for new content..when most haven't even scratched the surface of what you already have to work with. If anything...We need incentive to defend bases. Facility Benefits going live would help that. Making it so, a squad or outfit could Bind themselves to a base. So they get an Xp bonus or maybe decreasing the re-spawn time even more. PLatoons need to be put in. Commanders need to step up and take control.
Now, I realize this is a Game. But, if you're going to spend your time doing it. Don't you want to get the most Out of it?
