lately i have been amazed at how Planetside looks and the aspects of a flexible game and fun teamwork, but do people actually work as a team if they dont know them or are not in the same outfit as them? because if i start new, i would want to join a squad straight away and get on with the teamwork. Are people like this wen new people join the game or do they just dismiss them? plz reply :D

i have to tell you the truth. when i first got planetside i HATED it. the first replies i got from people were sarcastic and rude, i was ignored completely... it seems they are irritable towards people who are new beyond understanding....
i suggest that you go through the training the game offers first and read up on the manual. because some of the newbie questions people ask get very unkind answers lol.
Also, if you want to join an organized squad do your research on the top 10 squads in whatever empire your deciding to be. the more population in outfits = the more people on at the same time in your outfit which means more outfit arranged attacks ;)

I'm always looking for people to form a squad at the Sanc. Give's the noobs a chance. 5000 xp for hacking a base, that's teamwork.

Usually people who are rude to n00s that have done nothing wrong are jerks to others. I met a few great people in the early beta and was to BR 8 in three days due to their help.

if you join a squad with people you dont know, about 99% of the time there is still great teamwork. For the most part, the leader says where the squad is going and people (again not all the time) usually do what he/she says.
The teamwork is one of the best aspects about this game.

I agree completely.

Probably because you'd get 0wned if you didn't have a team....

The best thing to do is try to apply to one of the hosted outfits here. They are very respectful and good outfits to play with.

I joined up with the DragonWolves back in March of this year when I started hearing and seeing what Planetside will look like. I played the Open Beta with them and have never regretted it. If you're on the TR side, and want to play on Emerald, then go to the site and apply. They go through and do an actual interview with you, so be prepared.

You'll have the most fun with people you know or know about already. It's really important to find a good group of people. I'd watch out for groups with hundreds of members, cause there's no way you'll ever get to know them all.
Yeah, I'd look into any of the clans here.

Well I have had the worst luck with squads. probably Because I always want stay away from the zerg. and then with in 20 minutes of my squad getting there 5 out of 10 people get pissed off because they die and leave. So I try to join squads and only occasionally do they actually work out. So I end up going solo killing about 20 guys by myself and getting 5000 exp when the hack finally goes through.

Definatley do the shooting range and vehicle area, I got to BR 3 just from that when I started. Myabe do the training, although I learned all of that stuff from playing the game in about 2-3 days so....
Btw, I went up to BR 11 today. that's 3 rank ups in 3 days. I had my best day ever yesterday, I killed somehting like 43 guys. Nothing for you l337 players out there but thats somehting for me.
EDIT: nevermind, I had my best day ever today. 60 kills. I have more than 3 times the amount of smurf kills than barney kills.

so bottom line is:
- if you join a squad, make sure its not too big
- if you join an outfit make sure you either know some of them or they are respectable
- solo sux :P

smart.;)
Maybe I have been lucky, but I'd say that 90% of the random squads I have joined have been just fine, with quite nice teamwork.
About being friendly to newbies - as in all games, some are rude to newbies, but most people don't mind helping people out at all.

I'm always trying to recruit people at the sanc, noob or non-noob.

I only make fun of newbies when they say something utterly stupid. About the game or not. If it's about the game, something like "WTF I can't personalize my character beyond his face name and voice?" "this is one suck-ass RPG."
The freaking cover should tell you THIS IS NOT AN RPG.
People buy the game expecting "Morrowind: The Lost Years" and get halo with a little bit of RPG and alot of other players.
I just reccomend you research the game atleast a little bit before you buy the thing. One read of a good reviewer should do the trick.

I wasn't talking about you specifically, just noobs in general. You seem pretty knowledgeable.

Don't discount the larger outfits - if the outfits are run right, you get to know a good many people (Battle Group I Wasp), and they're good people to fight with. The smaller outfits are just as good, because they can work together almost without thinking about it - they just know what to do.
And I am a little disappointed that people flame others just for asking questions in sanctuary...how hard is it to just answer?

nice to see no flamers on this forum aswell :P the psu community seems pretty helpful

Depends, how does the person get these questions across?
If someone asks politely I will certainly answer them but if someone does this :
HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO DO ANYTHING WITHOUT A VEHICLE???????
At these questions I flame his ass out.
Be a respectable person, and everyhting's ok.
Be a jerk or a jack-ass and then you deserve it.
