I'm trying to decide if I should get Hacking or Repair with my next cert point total, 3 certs. I like working with a sqaud, so I want something helpful for me and my squad. There's been times when we were attcking the Control console and needed more ammo but no one could hack the equipment terminals. There's also been times when we'd all have vehicles and we're storming a base, or we need an equip. term. repaired. You all no the circumstances, help me out. What do you think?

I believe now, after they changed it, that only Adv Hacking can hack terms and vehichles now. The Hacking Cert just speeds pu the process on everything else.

When does this take effect? I know that's not how it is now. I was reading these certifications at the HART station for 20 min.

but notice in the patch when the skygaurd came out it said ya need adv haxing for haxing equipt and veh terms.

Repair it is then. I'll focus on hacking when I get higher in rank. Well, I can always switch the two every 24 hours. :rolleyes: Anyway, thanks for bringing this to my attention.

/edit/ OR engineering would be more usufull. for armor is more heavyer than health. repairing armor i think would be more ususfull, or do ya need combat engineering for that?

hacking by itself is nearly useless, unless you get adv hack.

i'd go with engineer.

why does ev1 say the hacking cert is useless without adv hack? u cant hack veh terms or equip terms. that doesnt mean u cant jack an AMS. u can take veh, med terms, cert terms, faster hacks on IFF and CC, and probably some other stuff i forgot :D

The hacking cert isn't useless. You can use it to Jack vehicles with. Then get advanced and get your own vehicles at an enemy vehicle pad.

If he had an Infil suit then yeah maybe he could go into hacking. But he doesn't. He asked that you veiw his stats and help determine the best course of action. Based on the current state of his cert build. Engi is the only real choice here. Hacking has it's place and all. But without an infil suit and dedication to the trade. Enough to get advhack. Basic hack is lackluster and will only disappoint.

The way to get advhack imo. When you have 3 spare certs buy another vehicle or weapon that you just wanna tryout. When you get one more point unlearn it and buy a reaver or HA. Add one more cert point and you can unlearn the reaver or HA and buy advhack all at one time. Same goes for advmedical too. You could sub the reaver/HA for two, two point certs. But it takes additional time to unlearn.

One thing i noticed (someone kidna mentioned this earlier) is that even if you can hack cert terms theyre useless....dont know if its just me but if you try it...ive had other ppl do it for me who are adv. hackers....then it'll say the facility is not controlled by your empire or sumthin like that...anyway just my input :P

The terminal isn't actually "yours" when you hack, it is just for s hort period, I think. And definatley go with engie, far more useful than hack IMO. I have Engy and had CE, but I sold it so I could try out the skeeter. I liek the mosq. but I don't kill anyone with, so I'm gonna get CE again and buy the lightnin, 360 turret :D

It's a bug that's been with us for a while now. You can't use cert terms even after you hack them.

You used to be able to hack the implant term. But you cant anymore. IDK why.
