I have a 2.0GHz Intel Celeron with 384MB DDR PC2100 RAM, GeForce 4 MX440SE 64MB DDR graphics card, DSL connection, and Windows XP Home Edition. I get major screen shuttering and 5-10 second lockups. I'm putting in another 521MB RAM and bring my amount of RAM to 768MB I might try to put in more. Iturned my graphics all the way down and did a disk scan and a defrag it stoped the some of the shuttering but I still have a lot. I keep reading the posts here andi always read its the coding. If its the coding if or when is there going to be a patch to fix it? If its my comp does any one know if theres a way to correct this? Thanks.

Adding more RAM will help. I solved most of my problems by getting another 512MB of ram to put my RAM specs at 1024Mb (Gig worth of RAM).
I'm not familar with Celeron performance, but it may pay to invest in getting an actual P4 2.0Ghz chip and not a Celeron.
Getting a better video card is another option. Suggestions include a GeForce4 TI 4200 w/ 128MB RAM or an ATI Radeon 9500Pro. Some ppl believe that there is an issue with the ATI's performace in the game. But go with what you wallet can handle.

I can't afford any big upgrades but I can afford RAM i'm prolly going to stick in 1GB of RAM along with a 256 Stick of RAM. I hope that fixes it.

Just be sure all your RAM is the PC2100 kind. It's unwise to mix 2100s and 2700s together.

My MB can only handle PC2100 RAM so its the right kind.

Hello,
Celerons have no cache, and they suck for gaming. Your video card is pretty low-end as well. I doubt upgrading your RAM is going to help much. PS is a uber game that eats up low quality machines for lunch. It is the age old conspiracy: Games require hardware, so gamers go out and upgrade. Better games come out, and the cycle repeats.

Well i have nevr had a problem with any game like this. This is what my comp has,
Specifications:
CPU: 2.0GHz
Type: Celeron
Cache: 128K
BUS: 400MHz
Socket mPGA-478
If this game has that kind of problem with lower machines than that needs to be fixed quick. Not alot of people have the money to buy new parts for just a game if sony knew that they would fix all its problems and get the game to work with lower machines. My friend told me something that I am now starting to beleave.
