Man, that game is damn good, AND it's free. It's easily as good as CS or DoD. I'm really impressed. Hell, I forgot how fun other FPS's were. Any of you guys play?

What's the highest rank you got?

I got up to 2 Lt today, but it's my first day.

It's pretty much ww2 combat.

You have 5 different classes of guys, with different weapons layouts, and the better you do, you get promoted. There's REAL teamwork in here, medics and engineers make up 75% of the population. The games great. I'm really impressed with it.

i don't like it, the combat is way too arcade-ish for me. i like cs much much more, not to mention planetside

Wow, that's one of the things I liked. I thought it was LESS arcadish than PS. Headshots, and you can't take 20 seconds of damage before going down. To each his own I guess.

it is a very excelent game, but i don't like the weapon models too much because they look un-detailed. nice name GonePostal.... because POSTAL 2 ROCKS

To me BF 1942 is insufficiently realistic. I play DoD. Of course, DoD has been dumbed down for the masses, with auto-reload, deathcam, and 360 degree grenade-detecting radar.

Ass. I've got BF1942. Remember, we pwned some people that day back in early beta? Anyway, I was in like the top 2% of that game so I just quit, there's really no challenge after a while. Skill>everyone else. After a while it's second nature, and no one can get close enough to kill you. That's one thing I like about this, head shots are still there, but you can also take about 8 bullets before going down, giving everyone an equal shot.

Sorry but CS is "arcadish" too man, if you truly want to stay clear of the action fest you needs the Raven Shield, now THAT is some sim-FPS. :D

Anyhoo i love ET, only problems is the netcode of RTCW never impressed me much (i don't get them anymore but connection interupted happened a lot before) and they need to slighlty nerf the damn field ops. You can quite easily rack up twice the XP of any other infantry type just by spamming the damn airstrikes.

Aside from that it rocks. :D

Look for me on |FAST| Beergarden (used to be |S| but it seems they staged a coup or something :lol: ).

I'm actually gonna get on in a few mins. :D

Yeah, Field Ops do need to get nerfed, but usually the medics are the ones that rack up the most exp.

What servers do you guys normally play on?

Was able tp max out all my stats as a medic on a full campaign (All six missions). I enojy Field Ops, Covert Ops, and occasionally medic. The final medic ability (Adrenalin Injection) rules, you don't get tired, run faster and take virtually NO damage, it's insane.

Has anyone made it to lvl 4 engineer? I read they get a Flak Jacket, and I'm intrigued.

Flak Jacket? wha? I have yet to max Engineer, and thats the only one. Any got a clue as to what the covert ops ablities are? Like Assassin at level 4? I was like, what the hell did i get?

I've got level 4 in everything exceot field (i hate being field ops).

Level 4 cv ops aka Assasin is the ability to backstab an enemy, if you can get behind someone and stab him you kill him instantly and stay undercover.

Level 4 engy aka flak jacket simply halts 50% of the damage from explosives rounds or something like that, i never notice it much since i usually die by thompsons or airstrikes. :p

As for severs as i said i'm 90% of the time on Beergarden, it's a 6 map campaign and the |S| guys (although they seem gone) are cool as well as the |FAST| guys. They have a very mature bunch and not the usual "F*** YOU ASSHOLE! THAT'S BS!!" type of FPS gamer, heck they don't even allow swearing on their server lol. :D

Oh and i forgot the cool thing is they keep track of the stats too. :)

Backstabbing? Everyone can backstab though. :D Medics, after level 2, would usually backstab and kill you then revive for a full heal.

Yeah but they won't kill in one knife hit unless the enemy is weak. A level 4 cv ops could kill a fully healthy medic in 1 stab (150 or so HP).

my best XP is 1343 I think. Also my record is ive gotten fourth class medic, engineer, covert ops and third class Field ops at 3 map africa campaign.

i changed my mind, after reading how much you guys liked it, i decided to sit down and play it for a while. it's decent, i still don't like the "feel" of the weapons, except the flamethrower. i have to play more cuz i still don't know how to do the different objectives

hmmm when an enemy aim at a discuised lev 4 covert the name will appear but will not dissapear like it will if he wasnt level 4.

I dont think u will get any better with backstabbing when ur a lev 4 covert. If im lucky, I can get to 4:th lev covert at 9 minutes at goldrush.
