almost all the weapons in the game are assault weapons, medium assault, special assault ect. ect. why are their no defence weapons, somthing designed to help hold a base instead of taking it?

Well all weapons are essentially defensive weapons too when used to defend. Considering that if you did make a set of "defensive weapons", they would probably just be the same as the other weapons, but intended to be used for defense, what the hell is the point in implementing them?

Turrets and mines, being completely stationary are also basically defensive weapons.

The current weapons are fine IMO. Though, I wouldn't complain if deployable blast doors, force fields, force-shields and countermeasures were added, because those are the closest you are gonna get to what I call "defensive weapons". :D

yeah probably, didnt think it through to well, just thought that if there are assault weapons there should be defensive weapons too, but i like ur idea about the walls n' stuff

yeah i think they should have those sheilds like riot police have, and it would take up a rifle slot. that would be c00

Better yet, I reckon Vanu should sooo get big ass glowing energy swords. Then we could equip an energy shield generator on the offhand wrist, causing shots fired near the generator to be caught by the shield, showing a momentory gleam of energy when struck.

Then give VS infantry jumpjets.

With all that, you've got super flying energy chopping bullet blocking VANU NINJAS YEEEEEHAW!!

but oni, rifles need to be held with two hands, so having a shield in one, would not allow you to hold a rifle, thus making you have to use a pistol ( or a REK...lol shielding while hacking...)

Engineers shoud be able to set up barricades at doors which need tobe blown with boomers, AA, etc.

more stuff for engys!!!!!!!!

Ok heres a wack idea, but it'd be kool in theory.

Have CE's be able to create gigantic defense "monsters". Heres wuts kool tho. Each engy can deploy one "piece" of the monster. He cannot deploy a 2nd piece of the same monster and theres a limit of 2. The monster is made up of 4 pieces. and the monster can be destroyed at any time, altho from 1 to 3 pieces its super ez "likea motion sensor" at 4 the monster bedcomes as heavily armored as say a heavy buggy (maurader). Newayz other engineers see ur monster and they add a piece onto it trying to completel the monster. The monster would then be a stationary thing that shoots plasma like shots at anything in a range of about 20 meters. It would be uber IMO

I dunno, I think my idea about Vanu flying ninjas is pretty 1337!

Ever tried Special Assault? The Thumper owns All. And I mean all.

About a week ago, I was on Searhus//Tara with a buddy, we just went around capping empty bases. Well a TR squad decided to show up. We had hacked CC, and they rush in with 2 MAXes and a squad full of not so smart people. My buddy and I vs. a whole TR squad, we held them off, hacking the CC back and forth for an hour before more Vanu arrived. Me and my Thumper baby! They were constantly messaging me, we had some good smack talk, and I got to know some cool TR guys. Maxes fear the Decimator as well, 2 shots for any MAX, and that first shot will sometimes make them pause and slow down enough for me to get a second shot off very quickly.

Hell, I've down Reavers with a Decimator. One time a guy was hovering above a tower and started firing rockets, sit for a few, fire Decimator - surge away, do it again and its dead.

You want some Defense - Audio Amp and A thumper, bouncing 'nades around corners baby!

It'd be cool for Combat Engys to be able to make forcefields. They use an ACE to make one, and it's added to the pistol slot, where it is automatically activated. It absorbs about 200 damage, then it's busted, dump it. To prevent abuse, it obviously can only be made by a CE, and has to be distributed, which takes forever, it'd take too long to go ask an Engy for one after you spawned, so it wouldn't be used very much in a zerg fest. But squads would look for combat engineers to equip them with shields and stuff.

By the way, to distribute them, CEs or anyone else just have equip the shield and there's two modes for it. The first is a recharge system, as long as you're holding it, it reinforces at 1 point per second, about 3 minutes for a complete recharge. The second is where you just go up to someone and use it, it sends them a message asking if they'd like to recieve a shield, they say yes, and it's added to one of their pistol slots.

As it stands, CEs are useless, they lay down mines and crap, a 10 minute job, and what happens? An infil gets through them in about a minute, your defenses are worthless. This would make Combat Engys a much more valued class for their ability to reinforce troops so effectively.

I dont know about you, but I think the TR maxes are pretty defense minded. Just stick one in a narrow hall or doorway with an engy behind it and you've essentially got a big wall with guns.:cool2:

Barricades = bad

This game is meant to be a FPS with cool bells and whistles.

Anything that actually stops fighting is bad.(So far I dont think the lib has improved play at all)

Actually, if the game were meant to be just that, then there wouldn't be as as many continents, or ANY continents for that matter, and would just be a clone of UT or Quake 3. So far I think Planetside is a three-way game of capture the flag

Anyway, as long as something is hostile or in the way, I reckon people love shooting stuff. Therefore barricades = a good couple of seconds of carnage.

Havent you ever played a coop FPS where you are with like 5 guys runnin around pelting the shit out of one huge monster? Its cool. :)
