Based on this... http://www.planetside-universe.com/images/news/psgeometry2.jpg what continent do you think will see the most battles and conflicts?

I can't tell that diagram didn't make sense to me:confused:

Searhus is the top of the world. That'll either make it the busiest or the least busy continent, I bet.

A lot of it depends on the actual terrain of the continent. Whichever is the most enjoyable to fight in and is also easy to get to will be the most contested.

Amerish, Forseral, and Hossin will probably be held securely by their empires most of the time, but would be the place where a lot of harrassment and sniping might be used to disrupt your enemy.
Esamir, Ishundar, and Cyssor will be very bad places to buy property, but they will be good places to go to get away from a particular empire.

Keep in mind this is just a concept, its how we "think" it will look.

Someone worked it out completely and was given the continent names on the official boards, right?

Airlift,
correct. All connections are correct based on what SmokeJumper said. As to the geometric structure, that is up to the person wanting to set it up. I described a hexagonal structure that Azrael drew a diagram for. The Hexagon has the advantage of not having quite so many crossing warpgate lines.

Oh, you think that's confusing? :D

Carl, do you know if that continent layout is subject to change?

No idea, I suppose it could. I don't even know if any of the current layouts are just guesses or based on fact.

Oh I understand it

I'm guessing Cyssor, Searhus, Esamir, Ceryshen and Ishundar will see the most action since all 5 of thoses are accesible by 1 or 2 jumps from every empire. All the others require more than 2 jumps for 1 or 2 of the 3 empires so it will be more 1 on 1 than 1 on 1 on 1. :)

Yeah, it's a bit um.....tangled.

Ishundar, definately, all 3 empires have direct access to it. Ishundar will definately be the most populated.
The NC doesn't have direct acces to Ishundur. But as i said it will be 1 of the 5 to get the most action.
See previous post : I'm guessing Cyssor, Searhus, Esamir, Ceryshen and Ishundar will see the most action since all 5 of thoses are accesible by 1 or 2 jumps from every empire. All the others require more than 2 jumps for 1 or 2 of the 3 empires so it will be more 1 on 1 than 1 on 1 on 1.

Cyssor, since it is separated by a channel and connected by bridges, might be popular because the bridges make choke points for ground troops.

Ishandur, Cyssor, and Esamir will probably all be very active.

Probably Ishundar or Searhus.
Is Ishundar charred terrain? I can't figure out what the grey areas are supposed to represent.

Whoever controls Searhus holds the flank on both of their one-hop confrontations.

The map Carl linked is tangled, but it's easy enough to decipher, just focus on the colors of the lines (red, blue, purple) as they corresponde to a direct link from a sanctuary while the whites are not direct.
Yeah, I'm a bit on the explanation... but had to say something about it :p
As for the most action I would say it will fall down to a combination of warp gate access + terrain + manpower.

I take back my previous post, the following news update:
http://www.planetside-universe.com/#108
Is the CONFIRMED continent/warp gate layout. Enjoy :D
You should post both the "official" map and the other previous one hamma. The other one was easier on the eyes. :)

Yea but it was incorrect.

Here is an easier on the eyes geometric arrangement. Kudos to Azrael for coming up with this off my original idea.

Cyssor, Esamir, and Ishunder if you want to fight a specific empire. Searhus if you want to fight general melee. Searhus is where the big battles are gonna end up. Im gonna be on Cyssor myself. Cooking TR is fun, and I hate having people jumping around.

The map i was talking about is not incorrect. Unless i missed a small mistake but i checked from the TR sanc to Forseral and from there to it's 3 hops including Oshur and from Oshur to it's other 3 hops and they are all the same as the "official" map.

notice that while 1-hop from Sanctuary will get you in conflict with just 1 other empire, 2-hops will get you in conflict with both. 2-hops from Sanctuary is the same for each empire. So expect these continents to be general 1 on 1 on 1 melee.
Searhus, Solsar, Ceryshen, Oshur
However, one or more of these might lend themselves to a certain empire's dominance. It looks like Searhus is the volcanic terrain continent, Solsar is the desert continent, Ceryshen is the arctic continent and Oshur...can't tell for sure, but it looks both fairly flat and lacking in major bodies of water.

I think Cyssor will have the most action.

Hamma, the triangular prism diagram (two triangles, one above the other)
http://www.planetside-universe.com/images/news/psgeometry2.jpg
was based off the SmokeJumper-approved map & gates you have currently posted in your news section. The reason I made it was because that map version looks like spagetti and it is really hard to visualise the interaction of each continent.
In the TP diagram, the colored lines from each Sanctuary show the empire exclusive warpgates. All other continents are color coded:
Orange continents - 1 hop to conflict, HOTSPOT continent
Yellow continents - 2 hops, so less likely to meet enemies and in lesser numbers.
Green continents - 3 hops from enemy. Your faction's Back door for when things are really ugly out there, or for people wanting to get places without being easily noticed.
Hope that helps clarify the diagram.

hmm - I didnt really take a close look at it to see if it supports smoke's rules heh
Exactly, so i say againYou should post both the "official" map and the other previous one hamma. The other one was easier on the eyes :D
