With the way certs work in the game, you can try anything out and only wait a few days to "unlearn" it. Try it out if it sounds neat. If it sucks and/or you don't feel it's worth it, drop it and pick up something else.

general public opinion of the lasher is in flux right now. it's (finally!) getting some loving in an upcoming patch.

Just don't rely on the beamer ;)

OMG are you bloody stupid? The beamer is the best damned flashlight in the game.

ifu get heavy assult cert u can always loot a jackhammer which owns everything, i dont leave the sanc with out it, or a mini chaingun, instead of the lasher. but the lasher is pretty when ur at point blank range.

I wanna see if I can get my outfit to organize a lasher squad, muhahaha. can you imagine turning the corner in a tower to face off against three or four lashers all blazing away? it just sounds so EVIL.

Can you imagine me avoiding all of the static electricity by strafing? I can

Whats gonna end up happeneing after the patch, is instead of dodging the individual disco lasher balls, people will be smart and avoid the line of fire totally (esspecially in bases where you can find a wall or a nook in the hallway).

IMO Lashers are the king in bases.

lasher does NOT, I repeat, DOES NOT have any splash damage at all. zero, none, nothing. yes, I know the disco balls of gimpness blow up all purdy lookin' when they hit the ground, but they do NOT have splash damage at all. instead what they have is a wide 'cone' (I believe) that is broadcast from the back of the lasher orb as it travels through the air, and any enemies that side step the orb itself yet are still within that cone take lash damage. that's the little static electricy zap thingy that comes off the orb. don't ask me how much damage the lash does, it's something small.

the lash damage is decent, with the last patch. About 10-15 lashes (the indirect static zaps) will down a reinforced (i did this back in the test server, not sure if they tweaked it)

The new lasher just owns everything, i gave it to my Vanu alt last night and just walked around owning TR and NC, the JH was a bit too good before, but now a JH or MCG have no chance at all. I literally ran into three guys with MCGs and killed them all with less than half a clip. Only thing a lasher cant do is long range and AA fire.

If theres a stupid reaver just sitting there spamming rockets ikn a different direction who says it cant be AA then?

Lasher is way better than it used to be. Still only good for near range as the COF blooms pretty badly. Good for 50 meter and closer i would say.

You consider 50 meters to be near (close) range? That's pretty far into the medium range effectiveness.
