What the title says, will there be a delay between the time you hit the fire button and the time the beam hits your target, or will it be like unreal tournament 2k3's instagib where it's as fast as a bullet?

ok let me dumb this down for you.

beam=light, you with me still?
ok LIGHT=VERY VERY FAST, as a matter of fact, belive it or not it is FASTER than a bullet.

do you understand now?

Well we don't know if it's light. And I severely doubt that it is because of the Lasher. The orbs must move kind of slowly. Like maybe a grenade launcher. They probably do have a speed similar to bullets, but hopefully at least a little faster

lasher isnt a beam wepon is it genious? and if you can see the beam it is light.

The only gun in the game that is a beam weapon is the Lancer, all the others are energy weapons and based on the videos, some of the shots are incredibly slow, why don't you shut up and come back when you have a clue.

If that was directed at me, first off, the beamer is a beam wepon. second i never said what wepons were and werent, I merely told him what a beam was and how fast it travels.

Jaguar, have you ever seen a fire fight on the news? Ok, the little orange things? Those are called tracers. Now (just to inform you) tracers are not made of light they simply emit it. Ok?

Ok, better example, you see your arm? Well its not made of light, you see. It simply reflects it.

There, I hope that helps.

And just because its a beam doesn't mean that its light. Just that it's some form of energy. Probly plasma or something (even though plasma is matter, game devs usually use it as energy).

Flame on...........

So in conclusion, yes, there is a delay before Vanu weapons hit, just like there is a delay with the other weapons. That means you need to lead your target when they're moving at a distance.

Also, anti-armor weapon fire seems to go slower than regular weapons do.

I can kill anyone with any weapon, despite bullet speed, energy or not energy, big or small, so I dont really care :D

Damn DarkJaguar can you tone down the scarcasim/being a jerk or whatever you call it. Just because your use to flame wars on the CS mod Firearms site dosen't mean to bring that shit here. Calm down and take a chill pill dude were here to discuss and debate not jump down peoples throats just because they don't understand and ask a question. Some of the stuff is just stipulation untill the game launches so people have questions and need clarifaction not overwhelming scarcasim for asking about something they don't understand.

Good, now that that's settled. Who agrees that in the video with the vanu max, that the vanu weapon fired by the vanu infantry guy is a pulsar? If that is the case (which I think it is), those shots are fast, but not insta-hit.
