My two kittens have just drug in two baby birds Whats even worse is they're babies and still alive. It doesn't seem they're injured and they're briething. They haven't opened their eyes yet. I guess for the kittens to have got them must have feel out of their nest. I would hate to be resonsible for not saving them when i can (I'm an animal lover). My parents probably wouldn't approve but if i could put them in something they could breath in for the night would it be possible to feed them? Or does their mother give out a special call so they know to open their mouths? Can i feed them soething besides worms? Well anyway i would appreciate if someone could answer this question RIGHT NOW so i know what i can do! Thanks!

Don't know much about birds but I know that if a human touches a baby one it's mother will kill it if she sees it again(I think) :(
[edit] I prob. was thinking of some other animal or just a certain type of bird. That's what I get for sleeping in Biology.

Ummmmmmmm I would call a friend who would know what to do but it midnight and I think she prab. has to go to work in the morning :(
[edit] also if you pry open their beaks I think they should eat any worms that you put in there. Is there a vet near you? You should call them.

They don't kill them, you idiot. They might not accept them back into the nest, so you'll probably have to do a bit of training them, just the flying part, the rest is instinct. The vet could probably tell you how to raise them if you plan to release them.

Happened to me once,i was playing football it hit a nest and the nest fell, well out of the 5 baby birds 1 survied,i took care of it for a few days, fed it mushy dog food which vet said to do then i took it to a animal care person who raised it but from the fall it had a scar on its beak and i swear the next summer i saw a bird with the SAME scar flying around my house,no joke either my parents saw it too,i ended up seeing it for like 4 years after that flying around then after that i never really looked,i still put food out jus in case its there tho

okay I know you got enought info to get the bird through the night. Just wanted to let you know some info good info I have learned from The croc hunter. He can teach you quite a few things in life. Well anyways. If a human touches the animals the mother will sense the smell on them and not allow them back in the nest or feed them. If has to do with the smell. They don't smell like her babies so she is not going to waste her time feeding them. Also you should probly feed them mushed up dog food or blended up worms. Don't try to feed them whole ones. They can't chey them. Their mother regurgitates into their mouths what she had eaten for them. Keep them warm. Put them in a nice comfortable nest of shredded papper, but shape it like a bowl so they lay down in the middle and can't role out. Put a light over the make shift nest. Will help keep them warm. You should probly use a feeder siringe to feed them while they are this young. That is about all I can think of. They may make it they may not. After a bit when they are healthier you may want to take them someplace where someone will take care of them and release them. Okay all I have to say

Call your local vet, they should tell you what to do. They would know alot better than us, and it would only take like 5 minutes. It won't cost you anything.

I just let me cats play with the baby birds/baby rabbits/moles/mice that they bring in. Cats usually dont eat what they catch, just play with it.

Put the cats in the nest!! The birds will die (No more problems) and they might kill the cat in the process. :D
I know somebody is gonna put "BAN" under this

OK I have a lot of experience with baby birds. Here is what you must do.
You have to your pet store and ask them for baby bird formuala. You then have to go back home and mix up the baby bird formula (follow the directions on the package and the advice of the pet store people).
Then you have to use a dropper and fill it with the solution. You then have to fill up the "Crop" of the bird. (You will know you are filling up the crop of the bird because you will notice a bulge start to form in his throat. You also might want to refer to a bird anatomy book to familiarize yourself with the location of the crop (It is next to the gizzard).
Make sure you don't overfill the crop or that will cause injury. Keep the birds warm at night and keep your cats away from the birds. I would keep them together in a TALL cardboard box. You will HAVE to pick them up to shove that dropper down their throat. When they get old enough, go ahead and let them go at a park or somewhere like that - they will be able to find their own food.
Hope this helps.

Dip them in gasoline, wait till night time, go outside with them, and set them on fire.
You'll fall down laughing as little fireball kittens run around like mad animals. Then you can have kitty stew.
