For all you Sword of Truth fans, the latest book in the series comes out. Titled Naked Empire it is the 8th book in a spellbinding series that takes our hero, Richard Cypher, on a journey through pain and loss, joy and love, and discovering who he really is.

I have enjoyed reading Terry Goodkind since 1995 when Wizards First Rule was published. It's hard to believe that an author, especially someone new to the Fantasy realm, has held me in thrall for this long. I think that this series is one of the better written series.

I have introduced this author to many of my friends and my wife, who had not read a single book in over 10 years. Each one comes up to me and thanks me for recommending this series to them. I decided to pass this invitation to everyone here. Go down to your local library and pick up Wizards First Rule. Or go to your local bookstore and pick up the paperback version. I'll probably be done with Naked Empire within a week and I'll let interested parties know how I liked it.

i like david eddings belgariad and mallorean, as well as Terry Brooks shannara series [the first of which very closely paralels a certain famous fantasy-trilogy and now film set...]

Yes, I re-read both of those series by David Eddings after I read Belgarath the Sorcerer. Probably going to pick up Polgara the Sorceress after I'm done with Naked Empire and the Elizabeth Haydon books recomended to me by Cyrus. I finished Rhapsody today and will be picking up the other two in the series.

I can think of one thing wrong with the title of this thread, in connection to the contents of it...

I may have to check that out, Sent. I am finishing up my second read through of the Thomas Covenant series. I will need another good read!

Even though Terry Goodkind writes his books so you can pick up any book and read it in the series, I would still recommend reading the first one, Wizards First Rule. Sets the backround and develops the storyline between the two main characters thoroughly.

I love the SoT series though it seems to be stalled in the last book. Well, I can't say much since Wheel of Time seems to have stalled too.:p
