View Full Version : Infiltration Armor change?
I noticed after the patch that I can easily see cloaked infiltrators. I can see them standing completely still and even when they are crouched. I cannot even begin to tell you some of the /tells I have gotten and there is no telling how many people think I'm cheating. I can see cloaked outlines of perfectly still Infiltrators. At first I thought it was just friendlies but I'm seeing enemies the just as easily. I went and played my Infiltrator and noticed I'm getting spotted alot more now also. I've been killed by freshly spawned people while I'm standing still. I've sat in corners with a boomer across the room waiting completely still and was killed by poeple with no DL icons on. This happened enough times where (and different hiding spots) to where I know they were not just lucky. Is this a bug or are Infiltrators suppose to be so easily revealed?

Last thing Infiltrators need is another bug. . . :(

I noticed this last night, I was at a base with NO enemies around. I was defending the CC and this NC cloaker comes in and starts hacking it. Once he was finished I killed him (standing completely still I could see him) then I re-hacked it for a little xp. :D

All Infils I saw yesterday while playing for about 6 hours straight behaved normally. Could it be vid card specific?

I have 2 chars and one is strictly infil. The biggest bugs in the game right now (DL bug, infil crouch walking in sniper scope) are already stictly infil issues. They don't need more problems. I haven't played that char since the patch and now I'm a bit concerned they've messed them up again.

I have noticed this recently as well. I can see them easily when they are doing anything. Any movement at all, be it turning, running, or hacking.... I can see them now without DL and my vids are not cranked to the highest settings.
I don't plan on using the Infiltrator suit anytime soon, or at least until they make it fully stealthy again.

Yeah I was playing VS today on cyssor and I was getting killed so easily. I would be just standing there sometimes and one guy pops around the corner... doesn't run into me, I don't move and he just pops me with his lasher.

Yeah.... thats why i kinda gave up on infil. I want to do it again sometime. But not in its current form. Last night i got a really angry /tell. I was topside at a techplant just finished fighting with a guy out there and was repairing/healing. All of a sudden this AMP goes off and i move quickly to dodge, tap the med kit, draw my lasher, and flip on DL. It quite a manuever and not usually successful.
So he sends me a /tell something like /t i had to fucking n00b lag fuck.
I reply /t Wow... arent you emotional.
He sends /t I had you and you know i had you you lagger n00b /t you jumped 15 feet in the air...
My reply /t get used to it.
His reply /t You lagger n00b you were skippin all over the place.
My reply /t and this is something new?
Theres a bit of a lul when i get another /tell I fucked your mom. /t she was good.
My reply /t she couldn't be that good His reply /t she has alot of big dildos.
My reply /t lol i imagine so if she had you. /t i mean you're a pretty big dildo. /t arent you? [player has set you to ignore] (or whatever that message is)
One bug i've noticed is sometimes you can see the infils name in the standard red lettering when cloaked.

I wonder. I play infil pretty much exclusively, and to me other infils are as visible (or non visible) as always... but I've lost count of the number of times I got fragged over the weekend when I had clearly been spotted by (apparently) non DL users when stationary, or even way out of DL range even if they had been using it.
Bumping this to see if anyone else has noticed this. Also when on a Wraith and sitting still, are you suppose to see them as clear as a running stealther? I've personally never use a wraith but I noticed an enemy on one stopped near a tree from a good distance off in a gun turrent and could see them plain as day. Needless to say I tore him/her to pieces.
I know two others that dropped their Inf. Armor certs because of this.

That's just the motion sensors or a hovering mosquito that they've tripped. that part at least is supposed to happen.
I've seen the jumping 15 feet in the air thing a few times, for a while (before I tried out Vanu to get a gauge on their equipment) I was actually convinced that Vanu infantry had jumping abilities close to the MAXs. I've never complained about it, I always assume anything like that is my connection.
Pulling a move to get out of the way of an amp is pretty impressive though. Personally I can't use an amp for squat, but people who use them well can rip you apart in an awful hurry.

You should see a friendly infil on a wraith that clearly. Enemy infil should be invisible when stopped.

Hmm.. seems fine for me most of the time. Last few days I have had such fun :D
Sitting on rocks with abour 30 enemies around.. just feeding information to the rest of my squad . . no one saw me at any time.. and I quite often crawl around them without them seeing me.
However.. many times I've seen infils when I shouldn't have been able to, and seen wraith's light up like I had dark light on :)
