Tales of walking corpses going around killing entire sqauds are rife. Firstly nobody expects a corpse to shoot them, secondly the corpses appear in a different position to where they really are. This needs sorting quickly or the walking corpses will start owning all over the place.

This happened to me the other day, and of course the PoS who was using it immediately got insulting when I pointed it out to him.

Hey I wouldn't be worried about walking corpes if you can still shoot them:D like you said. Just shoot them where there would normally be a person standing. You also said nobody expects a corpse to shoot them, but if everyone does this people will expect the corpses to shoot them, especially if they're moving. I wouldn't worry the devs will probably fix this or people will get bored with it

The persons real location can be 20 feet away from where you see the corpse and it seems to move in jump as though its lagging but it isnt for the actual player. Lasher corpse anyone?

so thats what happened. my friend yesterday did that and he walked in a spawn room full of enemys and killed them all! We both thought he was invincible but i guess not.

yeah, but don't. That's an exploit, and if someone reports you, you could get banned. Or worse, have everything--BR, CR, Certs, Kills, Outfit points--stripped away from you.

I'd suggest replacing advanced regen for another implant until they fix the problem. Its inconvienent and you don't even know you're a corpse so its not really fair if you get in trouble, but its better than losing everything!

Funnily enough i have never seen a MAX corpse wandering about, maybe it only affects infantry.

Hello,

Hate me if you will, but I'd rather have people spread exploits. When people hide them and only share them with friends or outfits, they do not get the attention they should get. I'd rather have a week of hundreds of people using this to see it stopped than month and months of the occasional cheating prick.

If we spread the truth about such exploits, only the pricks will use them. The more pricks using them, the sooner the exploits will be removed. It will be only minorly annoying to us as players, but at least the damned developers will work faster to fix the problem. Just think of it as from a profit aspect as the game developers do. If we expose problems like this, they will fix them quickly to protect game balance. If you hide problems like this, as everyone seemingly wants to do, it gives the developers more time to sit on their asses.

We do want SOE to fix the exploits, right? Well, not revealing them and not spreading the truth about exploits only gives SOE an excuse to ignore them. We need to reveal them, have idiots use them, and get SOE working to resolve the issues. Not revealing these things leaves SOE an excuse of it not being a big enough issue to work on. Knowledge truly is power. Last I checked, we are paying for this game. We should do everything within our power to make SOE get rid of exploits. Hiding the truth behind exploits won't make them do anything.

BTW, I took some time off to play SWG, and I'm loving the changes they have made in the mean time! WTG SOE! Please focus more on bugs and exploits though.

Exactly. The more it's spread, the sooner they'll fix it. I can become a corpse just about whenever I want. But where's the fun in that? That's like god mode, it ruins the challenge.

Speaking of god mode. Something interesting happened yesterday as well. I was standing in the courtyard of a hacked base awaiting the coundown when we suddenly needed an ANT. So I hit recall, only to be told "You cannot recall while in a vehicle." So I tried Instant Action and Quit. Neither worked. I set three boomers at my feet and jammered them, nothin. I walked into a nearby lake, oxygen level didn't even appear. Finally I deconstructed myself at a nearby AMS, which forced my camera to pan around the AMS(as all death scenes do), yet my Avatar was still walking around. Finally had to Ctrl Alt Del it.

It does happen to MAXes too.
Last night we hacke d abase and I was guarding the CC by myself.
They were swarming up the stairs and I was killing them all.
I thought i was really sweet lol

but then i got a tell saying they would report me if i didn't stopexploiting.
I thought it weas just another whiner bitch complaing because i killed him, so I told him off.
But later i decided to stop shooting and i watched everyone shoot 5 feet next to where i was. Then i told them they were missing and walked in front of their line of fire. when they started hitting me i took no damage.

Don't worry about getting banned for this.
If you accidently do it they will send you tells complaining, just relog your character and you'll be fine.

I'm glad you posted this Jaged. Like someone already said, the more people know about it, the quicker they'll fix it. Some people doing this aren't doing so intentionally. It is nice to know how it happens. Was weird watching a TR MAX corpse go shooting by last night.
