TR MAX's Duel Cycler or Duel Thumper

:confused: Aight, so here is the deal, i was in the shooting range in the TR sanctuary today and i was going to try out the TR MAXes... after having extensive experience with the NC MAXes on Markov, this server being Johari, i was hoping they where better because, frankly, the NC MAXes are a joke... I tried out the AA MAX first and i found it hella nice and when i anchor that bad boy its death to aircraft for sure. So i said, well, thats about as nice maybe a bit better than the NC AA MAX. I moved on to the Duel Cycler... Now this mofo is a killing machine! i could take down infantry and MAXes and vehicles in about 50-75 rounds of nearly fully automatic fire when anchored. i was MORE than impressed at the way this was sooo much better than the NC Scattercannon variant. I played with the DC MAX for a bit more and then moved on to the Duel Thumper... I was annihilating everything in my way and was having fun doing it.:eek: So i was wondering if i could call upon the expertise of other TR MAX players which i should go for first, i am willing to give up my Harrasser cert in a second for one of these, anyway, if you could, please help me out...DC MAX or DT MAX..thanks all!!!

i think you mean pounder max.

if you think the DC max owns now, you probably never saw it in beta :)

anyways, i'd go with the pounder max for defensive indoors firepower, pounder can keep stairs/entrances clear for quite a while before going down.

Only problem with the pounder is its not much use against other MAXs, the Cycler is, but much less effective against infantry. I'd still go pounder and you can rack up loads of kills with it, if you can get into a busy spawn room and lockdown and spam it you'll probably kill everyone in their in a few seconds, i did this last night and killed about 10 peeps, then another 10 as they respawned one by one.

DC does as good or better against infantry as the Scattercannon. the Pounder is just nuts, especialy considering it removes all possible advantage from infantry against MAXes when it starts bounceing those damn nades around corners. Seriousely, it is the only max capable of atacking around corners, and it is much more effective indoors and outdoors than either empires' counterpart maxes.

Dual Cycler = AV like the falcon

Burster = AA like the sparrow

according to the website? sure. in reality, they're both quite capable of AI and AV.

The pounder if TR all the way, it kills everything faster then the DC.
If you can't own a MAX with a pounder your doing somthing wrong! My only problem with the pounder is the grief.

As for the TR AA being better then the NC AA UMMM NO! NC is has the best AA no other AA max comes with in half of its power.

The TR DC is equal to the NC Falcon when doing AV damage but the DC is better when used for AI. Though I find the Scattercannon better at AV and AI then either the falcon or DC but it still has to bow down to the pounder.

Both the DC and DP MAXes are excellent performers in the "ridiculously overpowered" role. Go play a Comet MAX for a day and then tell me the DC MAX (note: they're both AV MAXes) isn't worth it.

DC MAX never seemed like great AV to me, but it isnt bad at killing infantry, and nice if you want to blow up tubes or something.

Pounder can be a grief magnet, but the grenades are SUPER against troops inside. Outside it isnt as good, but it does some good AV damage.

BTW, Pounders can kill my Falcon faster then I can kill them, DC MAXs cant.
