I was bored so i decided id try and come up with some empire specific aircraft. The VS is made to make up for their crappy AA abilities. The TR is an AI aircraft, and the NC a AV/AI.

The A2A missles of the Stingray have a range of 200m and can lock on and follow their target. You dont have to keep your crosshairs on the target to keep the lock.

It utilizes basicaly the same weapon as the Pounder MAX, but made for an aircraft.

-VS Infantry: Excellent
-VS Vehicles: Average

The Lightbearer has the same weapon as the driver of a Liberator.

(yeah i know the names suck) Im not sure of how over/under powered they would be.

Wow, put a lot of thought into it, but shouldn't it go into the Game Discussion forum, not the Lounge? Might get more response in that section then here.

we need a heavy transport, that is a heavily armored aircraft with open canopys and 4 or 6 max positions. The maxes get locked into the aircraft, and can shoot down at people / up at aircraft. that'd be a lotta fun, and can be used as a max transport.
Kinda like the transport from tribes 2.

I didnt put too much thought into to it, i was talking with my brother about ideas for different empire specific special assualt and aircraft.

They need to come out with a heavy transport before more smaller aircraft. And there should be a anti-aircraft aircraft with missiles that lock on but is not good at ground units at all.

look at the stingray, it has air 2 air missles, but sucks vs infantry

Sure, those are decent, but who in the world would pay 5 certs for them? The 12mm is what's used on the skeeter. And MAXes are classed as vehicles. There's no aircraft there either. 12mm sucks ass, at least a 20mm. That or more than one gun, like 3 12mms in a triangle of carnage, mmm...

I would pay 5 certs for those, exspecially the VS one. VS have crappy AA so we are always under attack by aircraft.

I can see why they have crappy AA. Their anti-air max unit isnt extremely good. Plus, their anti-vehicular weapon is not good on aircraft unlike the pheonix and the Striker. So basically all thats left is the skygaurd.

NC secondary weapon...hmmm. Maybe missles that lock on ground vehicles or something.

He said 2 driver and gunner. Thus he probably means a driver and gunner = 2 people.
