The Lodestar has yet to make it into PS, and allot of people are wondering when.. Sporkfire commented on this very issue yesterday:

The Lodestar, while it is definitely going to hit the game eventually, is still under development. A lot of the details have not been hammered out. When it was announced, it was meant as an indication of extended future plans so it will be a little while before it actually hits the game. But it's on its way. We promise.

Does anybody believe the bold part? If it's true I can't wait :D

No offense to the loadstar fans, but unless it can haul ass and can haul people *inside* the vehicles, I just don't think it will be that special.

On its way doesn't mean anything.

The end of the universe is on its way, isn't it?

Hopefully, we don't know the details yet. This would never happen, but wouldn't it be cool to fly around a base with an AMS in a Lodestar as people would respawn and then hotdrop out?

Edit: Question, where are people gonna get the Lodestar? If it's bigger than a Gal the only place would be a HART station? Maby while the HART shuttle is gone people can get the Lodestar? (God I hope this thing is huge.)

I would think that it would keep the same properties as the gal, as in, you have to physically drive the veh into the lodestar....

Of course maybe they could attach a crane or something to it.

Ya know those trucks that drive down the road with like 10 cars on them that look like they are gonna fall off? thats what i think its gonna be like, sort of.

Hmm, maybe, there is an "elevator" type thing at the back, ya drive your tank or whatever on it, then once you get to the top you select a slot on the top.

Dunno, this is just me being board :/

I can't remember. Is this loadstar going to be a land or ground vech? Or do we know yet?

It's an air vehicle I believe.

Yeah, the Lodestar is a vehicle-carrying aircraft, probably bigger then the Galaxy in terms of physical size, because Dave G said that it can carry the medium Empire specific tanks, and *possibly* an AMS. However, I doubt it can be deployed in the LS, so don't hold you breath on that.

If the Lodestar wasn't in the latest future features, I don't hold out much hope until thr next "batch" of features, or this rumored expansion pack.

pfh maybe skyguards would be useful for once...

The thing about a vehicle like this is it sucks if your ppl arent on the same page. Something we've all learned form numberous failed Galaxy drops. However, a well organized outfit that already has solid airborne rangers and a tight air force will fold the lodestar into their arsenal seemlessly. Personally, i cant wait. But i still think theres alot more ppl that need to level up and specialize. As it is now i see alot of peeps, VS in particular that are half grunt and half armor support so you can never really relly on any specific means for which plans are to be carried out.

I hope only 4, nothing will reach 5.

my thoughts on this (being opiniated)

1. thats the same thing they said about platoons

2. everyone thinks the new vehicles are so cool , everyone thought the liberator was great until most sucky pilots miss their shots by 20 meters. (I know their are some really good lib pilots so dont flame me , just saying the majority of them do suck) honestly how many times have u seen a lib miss and not get a single kill?

3. the lodestar is for vehicles (IE lodestar = vehicle galaxy) its probably gonna be a flying car park thought it might be interesting to see vanguards and magmowers raining

When I think of the loadstar I think of the thing in Halo: Truth and Reconciliation. That would be cool....

I finally made it, 1000 kills.....I dont see how some of you guys do it.

ALOT, and for no real reason either. The hacking/med/engy certs should all be brought down to 2. Then you won't have to give up 3 cert points just to hack a base quicker/heal armor/heal health (just buy medkits, much easier).

I kinda wondering, do they only plan to implement vehicles btw?

Any new content is great, but if people who like vehicles are getting so much, when are infantry players gonna get some new guns or armour types?

How is buying med kits much easier? I thought for sure it was OFN that one MedApp is like without any cartrages was like 100 times better than healing from medkits.

Not everybody wants full med or full engineering. As for hacking, I think adv hacking should make it go faster.

Edit: Dude, I'm a whore

Edit2: Oh god. I have entered the realm of whoredom. :scared:

Let's just hope it can transport all the ground vehicles, and that it doesn't cost too many cert points. All I know is that as soon as it's out and I got the points for it, I'll fly it.

LET THE TANKS RAIN OVER THE LAND!!!

Well for me it's easier than spending 3 precious points. Plus in my normal setup of reinf armor/striker/mcg I can fit 200 extra 9mm ammo, 9 extra strikers and that leaves just enough room for 3 medkits, but nothin else can fit in that space, besides nades I suppose. So for me its easier.

I'm curious what you put in your holster slots 1 and 3. I use 3 med kits too but i dont relly on it.

My inventory:
2 boxes of HA ammo
1 CUD
1 REK
3 boxes of AV ammo
3 Medkits

and holstered i have:
1 BANK
1 HA gun
1 MedApp
1 AV gun

I think this a very bread and butter loadout and prolly quite common. Even across other empires. It seems that given the size of inventory items and weapons. This is as good as it gets.

If my squad has plenty of good hack/advhackers then i skip the REK for 1 more HA ammo. Or in the case of alot of midfield fighhting i'll drop the REK & CUD for 2 more HA ammo. If i'm demoing a base i drop one MedKit, the REK, and the CUD for an extra box of AV ammo.

You may go threw 9mm rounds faster than i go threw energy cubes so extra ammo could be of more use to you. But i still would never give up medical or engineering for an ammo slot. Besides that i think it's easier to scavenge 9mm rounds than medkits.

Personally if i were TR i think i'd use double MCGs. 1 standard, 1 with AP rounds and totally skip the AV cert. Given the size of ammo for 9mm it should be alot easier to manage and fit alot more in your inventory. But i haven't tested it out since the latest patch.

A bigger Galaxy. How excitingyawn............zzzzzzzzzzzzz...

PS needs gameplay changes, something to link gains in BR/CR to real personal and team skill, and something to make the "persistent world" a little more persistent and give it all some point.

You can stick in as many new vehicles as you like, it will make no difference to the lastability of the game.

who said 'i wonder if it will carry mozz's and reavers'? were you joking? WHY???

imagine dropping 4 magmowers on a base. pwnd.

I think it would be fun to see who has the best aim. Imagine, a Vangaurd firing away. All of the sudden, WHAM! A Prowler lands right on top of it.

What exactly is the lodestar? Like another aircraft or another ground vehicle.
