I know it has probably been talked about before.. but what about ruins? If anyone took the time to read the owner's manual it states "In existence for over a thousand years, the Terran Republic was the sole governing power." Now if they had really been around for 1000+ years, where are some ruins/buildings and stuff? I know to put stuff like that in, would probably make some people's fps drop sharply, but it was just a thought.

Well yes.. but my point is that where is the (once again a quote from the manual, "Remnants of an ancient alien race were also unearthed." Do joo see any remnants??
And by the way... I was quoting from the book on my first post.

On one of the continents there's a HUGE skeleton that you can only see from the continent map. I forget which one it is. :(

Well think about it... Has there been sort of clean the planet thing before the "fight" started? I would at least expect to see some rubble or somethin to show that there was something there long ago.. Even like a small "temple" type thing in sanc that people could see would be kinda neat.

It would be cool to have a sacred temple on each Sanctuary. Like when you walk up to it a message comes up, "You must holster your weapon to enter the temple" And if you shot at it you got a 15min weapons lock.

but you can't even shoot in the sanctuary...

I think caves and tunnels would be neat. Talk about fun, it'd be awsome to come out of a hillside from a cave near an enemy base for the assult. But like that will ever happen. :O_O:

Right on good ol' Oshur

That's true... the Terran Republic existed for 1000+ years, but they didn't exist on this planet. They travelled to this planet, and then got caught when the wormhole they came through closed off. They then started fighting against each other, thus creating the three known factions. As for the ruins of the Vanu.... thats a good question.
The original vanu just died off, and you guys were wondering why there were no animals, pshh.

That explains it. Auraxis is like a bird cage to anything that big. So all the Vanu creatures tried to fly away into space (No air) and they all died out.

I thought it said that the vanu had left this planet

It dosen't say what happened to the Vanu, just that they were gone. But as far as the 1000+ years thing, I guess I just wasn't paying attention to it.
So what if you can't shoot at sanc? It would be kinda cool to look at.

I would place my bets on the Vanu leaving the planet.
They could be an alien society that lives by peace and follow a policy of "knowledge is power." Therefore, aside from the warpgates and that symbol on Oshur, before the Vanu left Auraxis they scoured the planet of their existence so they would remain a mystery(after all, the less that is known about you, the less that can be done against you).
For religious, spiritual, or societal reasons they left the warpgates intact. Perhaps these warpgates were the first the Vanu ever constructed, and that they pioneered the way for even more powerful technology that launched them into space and the galaxy beyond.
Since I'm just speculating all this, I would assume they left the warpgates as a memory and monument to the first achievement that catapulted their species into an age of enlightenment and exploration. They tore down everything else, but they couldn't bear to tear down their inventions that gave them birth to a new age.
Edit: Yes, the Terran Republic has been around for 1000 years, but Auraxis was discovered about 30-32 years ago, which is why there are no TR ruins either :)

The entire core of the planet is made of vanu tech and so is the thing that opens when you hack the CC. Its what controls the nanites and makes respawning possible, it's also the thing that fuels the warpgates.
Let me see if i can find the source, think it was a dev post on the beta forums but not 100%.

All the Vanu are belived to have trancended into a higher form of existance and they have left Auraxis.
Don't mix the Vanu race whit the Vanu Sovreignity. The VS are made up entierly of human and not Vanu (the alien race).

Or prehaps they're comming back. There's a thought for you.

That would be an awsome suprise for the devs to do, don't tell anybody about it. Then one day invincible aliens played by the devs come out of all the warp-gates.
